Make some memories in Portland and go spey fishing with Matthew Thornton
Winter Steelhead & Trout & more could be biting depending on conditions. On these trips, it’s common to fish with two-handed spey rods & Skagit or skandi lines. Capt. Matt exclusively offers fly fishing.
You’re free to keep any fish you catch within the legal limit.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
You’ll be welcome aboard a 13’ NRS fishing raft with room for 2 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with flies.
You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
A few items to bring include sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks available on board.
