Deep Republic believes you deserve nothing but the very best. They offer all sorts of trips from chasing tuna schools offshore to catching big cubera inshore.
The boat is a custom-built 30’ fishing machine. This comfortable boat is powered by twin 150 HP Yamaha engines and has plenty of space for up to 8 guests, the captain and deckhand.
The vessel is well-equipped for a productive day on the water.
Deep Republic departs from Herradura Bay and heads out to the most productive spots and honey holes in the area. Your techniques for the day will vary from light and heavy tackle fishing to trolling, jigging, spinning, bottom fishing, and popping or spearfishing. With Sailfish, Marlin, Snapper, Tuna, Grouper, and Mahi Mahi all among the popular catches, it’s hard to resist.
If you have an interest in spearfishing, Capt. Josh is a professional freedive and spearfishing instructor. From shallow reefs to bluewater, he can set you up for the fish of a lifetime. Deep Republic practices Ethical & Sustainable Spearfishing - Fishing for the Future.
The crew will pack some snacks or a light lunch. Shorter trips include fresh fruit and water, while the longer ones will have sandwiches on board. Plus, all keeper fish will be cleaned at the end of the day to get your dinners sorted out!

3/4 Day Offshore
Awesome crew and experience
We had an amazing time with Josh and Dani today. Had to make a hard run to get to the tuna but had a fantastic day. These guys were prepared, experienced, a lot of fun and extremely kind and patient with my 3 teenage kids. I was very impressed with the preparation and effort and beyond pleased with the results. Highly recommend these guys. And the absence of any language barrier is a bonus. Can’t complain about Spanish in Costa Rica but English speaking captain and mate makes things so much easier.

HALF DAY BILLFISH (PM)
Great captain and mate!
It was a tough day on the water, but Josh and his mate worked their asses off to find fish, but the fish just didn’t want to cooperate. I did the 4 hours trip, so there really wasn’t a lot of time to troll, and it appeared other charters had a slow day too. They did drop a jig before we left the reef and we were able to pull up a bonito. I’ve fished my whole life and been on a lot of charters. The lack of fish wasn’t from a lack of trying. It just wasn’t our day. Captain and crew were great!

Bluewater Extreme Tuna
Great Small Charter
Well if you are looking for a Charter for a smaller group, look no further. Josh and Elliot did an awesome job to put us on some excellent tuna fishing. All our requests were met and we had an awesome time. Picked us up off the beach behind the Marriott. We caught 12 yellowfins up to 50#. The boat was well stocked while not being cluttered. Although they specialize in free diving etc, they were well equipped for catching and making sure we had a great time and caught some fish too. They even prepared Fresh Sashimi on the ride home. We will be back next year and will fish with Deep Republic again.

Morning Reef Bite
Rain and Fishing
Josh and his crew are a bunch of nice guys that just want to see you catch fish. We were out on a pretty bumpy day and despite all of that we were able to get two really big fish. They made us feel comfortable and like they were friends and it was nice to chat with them and catch fish, this guy knows what he’s doing and wants to help you have a good time and is sincere. I highly recommend that you work with him and you use him as your fishing guide in Costa Rica. He even built his own boat, which is really cool and well maintained.

Half Day (AM)
HOOKED
CPT Josh and crew were friendly and accommodating based on our fishing desires, needs, and requested half day trip. Any questions I had prior to meeting up were answered in adequate time. All bait and fishing gear set up by crew on the way out. Once we had made the trip offshore, I was pleasantly surprised to have a sailfish on the line within the first 10-15 minutes! All snacks and drinks provided were great, with some delicious fresh fruit served during the trip. Josh and the crew really know the good spots to go for hooking and landing sailfish; we ended up reeling in at least 4 over the span of our halfday offshore! Any pictures or videos taken by the crew were promptly sent upon request after the trip.
