Species like Sheepshead, Flounder, Gag Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Red Snapper, Black Drum, Amberjack, Vermilion Snapper, Redfish, Red Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Speckled Trout, and more are in the cards if conditions are right. On these trips, it’s common to bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
Your vessel for the day is a 26' Blackjack Coastal center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It has all the essentials. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's recommended to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Captain Mason gave my family an experience they’ll never forget. He was extremely patient with my kids and also made it a lot of fun for them. Captain Mason is a true pro on all levels that are related to chartering but most importantly is a pro at being a great human. Thanks for everything Mason! We will be coming back to see you again.
I would highly recommend Captain Mason to anybody and everybody of all levels and also to any parent that wants to enjoy their kids having an experience they’ll never forget.

Can’t say enough good things about Cpt Mason and 9 Hooks Fishing Charters. Mason was flexible, accommodating, and determined to ensure that we had the best time possible. Great boat; fully outfitted, capable, and comfortable on a day with some chop. More importantly, Mason was attentive to the kind of fishing we were looking for and ensured that we got on the fish. Lots of action and enough keepers for one heck of a meal that evening. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Amazing Trip!

If any of you guys want to have a good time fishing this is your guy! Captain Mason and Brady were excellent with our 5 and 9 year old. On the first cast we caught a fish and that was just the start of a great day. Waves were a little larger than forecasted but he was able to accommodate us by moving closer into shore and we still had a great experience. Afterwards we took our catch to be prepared at Hunt’s on St. Joe Bay.

Afternoon bay trip

Captain Mason was fantastic! The weather conditions were questionable, but he was willing to take us out anyway. We lucked out and the clouds cleared up and it was a beautiful afternoon. Captain made sure we set up on several different spots and we started reeling em in! Caught some catfish, big redfish, some big bluefish, and even a shark! Super fun trip, highly recommend!
