Bounty Bay PSJ Charters
Bounty Bay PSJ
Charters is located on the waters of Port Saint Joe, Florida. Run and operated by a 4th generation fisherman Captain Pete Barwick, we invite you for a ride to land you on the fish of your dream. With Captain Pete the possibilities are endless!
You will be sailing aboard a 27' Pro-Line boat, powered by a 250 HP Suzuki outboard engine. The boat has a maximum speed of 40 knots and is rigged with top-notch navigation gear, as well as an ipilot anchoring system to keep you right on top of the fish without having to reposition over and over which means more fishing time and more fish period. There is a private head on board the vessel.
Bounty Of The Bay Charters can customize each trip to your needs and desires. If you just want to get your feet wet or just want to stay in the bay and inland areas, then the half-day trip is just what you need. You can choose between fishing inshore or flats, going for Flounder, Redfish, Trout, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel, and some more. The six-hour trip will send you sailing offshore where you can get your hands full with Red Snapper , Grouper, Vermillion Snapper, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel, Cobia, Almaco Jack… the list just keeps going! Your targeted species will depend on the season and what is biting best. Full day trips are for the same species as the 6hr. Just gives us a little more range and fishing time!
Captain Pete uses a great variety of fishing techniques, including light tackle, heavy tackle, spinning, popping, jigging, bottom fishing, and many more.
Your trip with Bounty Bay PSJ Charters will include fishing rods, reels, live bait (when needed), tackle, licenses. The only thing that's not included is you're eats, drinks, and gratuity 15-20% is customary. Can beer is fine, no hard liquor and no excessive amounts of any alcohol.

The weather was great but the fish weren't initially cooperating. Captain Pete showed off his extensive knowledge of the Bay and connected waters and kept at it until he found the fish. We ended up catching a wide range of fish including sheepshead, spotted trout and Black Drum. At one of our last stops, my 8 year old daughter hooked into not one, but two giant fish. The first 30 pound black drum we got to the boat but then it pulled the hook. The second 35+ pound black drum initiated a run of easily 200 yards before Captain Pete ultimately decided to let it tow the boat in an attempt to wear it out. My daughter stuck with it and reeled the fish on all by herself. The sense of victory we all felt after a 30 minute fight on very light tackle will stick with us forever. When asked what the best part was of a week long trip to the beach, my daughter immediately and emphatically answered "fishing with Captain Pete!" We will definitely seek him out for future trips to the area.
Captain Pete was an amazing captain. We caught our limit in the first spot! He was very attentive and helpful and would answer any question you had. One of the best fishing charters we’ve had out here. This is definitely a trip to do if you love catching some large fish. Overall, an amazing experience
captain Pete was easy to fish with. very knowledgeable about the history of the Port St Joe area, we enjoyed hearing about it. Due to high winds we couldn’t do the offshore as we’d planned but still had a great time fishing inshore. I would absolutely recommend capt. Pete and if we ever make it to Port St Joe again he’ll be who we continue to use.

Captain Pete was pleasant, courteous, helpful, and informative. My daughters and I had a wonderful time fishing and conversing with Pete throughout our trip. We caught a variety of fish and the boat was spacious and well kept. I wish we would have purchased the extended fishing trip. We will certainly call on Bounty Bay PSJ Charters when we come back this way.

Captain Pete did an excellent job! Would highly recommend him to anyone. We were able to change our date due to weather conditions and he was very accommodating in changing the plans. He is very knowledgable in many different types of fish and how to catch them. Was very attentive to bait all our hooks and just letting us pull them into the boat one after another. The fish were biting great and it was a perfect day of fishing. Will use him again in the future for family fishing trips! Thanks Captain Pete!!
