Wild Thing Fishing Charters
Book your next trip with Wild Thing Fishing Charters and find out what you're missing on the Gold Coast.
You will be greeted by Col at the pier. Your skipper and decky are a lively pair who live and breath fishing and can't wait to help you to catch your fish.
You will catch a variety of species including Cobia, Pink Snapper, Black Jewfish, Tailor, Spanish Mackerel, Yellowfin Tuna, Longtail Tuna, Amberjack, Bigeye Trevally, Flathead, Mahi Mahi, Sweetlip Emperor and many more which can be found in these waters if you cast your line at the right time of year. You'll target your catch by light tackle fishing, trolling, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Your fishing machine for the day is a 31' Kevlarcat with room for 10 passengers. It has outriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. A tip for the crew is always welcome but not necessary to show your appreciation for their hard work as they love just getting you out there for a great day on the water.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the crew.
Drinks and light snacks will be available for you. There will be bottled water, soft drinks, sunscreen (non-spray)and sanitizer on board. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. Time to make it happen, with Wild Thing Fishing Charters!
note-Our lovely Gayle will contact you to get your payment method and arrange payment prior to your trip.

Went out for a 7hr arvo session with 9 mates and filled the boat. Great day out bottom bashing, all caught fish on squid / mullet / pillchards including some real nice pearl perch in about 70m depth. Everyone had a great time and we were in good company with the cap and deckhand. Gayle also who helped with all the booking and pre-trip logistics was great. Cheers

Thanks so much for the awesome review! We’re stoked to hear you and the group had such a cracking afternoon session 🎣 Sounds like the fish were definitely on the chew—those pearl perch are always a great reward for a bit of bottom bashing! Glad to hear everyone got onto a few too. We really appreciate the kind words about the skipper, deckhand, and Gayle—she’ll be wrapped to hear she helped make everything run smoothly before you even stepped on board. Hope to have you and the crew back out again soon for another ripper day on the water. Cheers!
we had a great 5 hours out on the water. our captain hit all the right spots and we all caught fish. Would recommend going out with the Wild Thing team.

Thia was my wife’s first Deep sea fishing Experience and ahe loved it. She caught the biggest fish of the day. She throughly enjoyed the trip! Thanks to the team for a fantastic Experience! I think she’s hooked 😁🎣, excuse the pun!

Thank you stefan. It was a pleasure to have you guys on board. Your wife smashed it and we would be honoured to have her aboard again. Enjoy your future fishing adventures. We see lots of deep sea fushing in your future. 🦈🎣
We had a fantastic day The Crewe were straight up awesome. Nothing was a drama, everything was well prepared and ready. We got some serious tangling but the boy were quick to sort them out, without any fuss. I’ve been on many chatters over the years and I can honestly say this was one of the best. We caught fish, we had fun, the Crewe interacted with everybody on the boat and made it a great day. Next time I go fishing 100% I will book the wild boys!!! Thanks again Merry Christmas

Cheers Steve, your team were absolute champions to have on board. We couldn’t have asked for a more fun group. We really do hope to see you all again very soon.
Melinda was born in New Zealand spending her younger years surround by a large family, she was taught early about the importance of tradition and culture and loved attending the local Marae and enjoying fresh caught seafood at the Wharenui. Melinda moved to Australia aged 8 and soon came to the Gold Coast region enjoying the beaches, swimming, hunting for nippers, fishing and playing with the blue soldier crabs. Spending most of her life in southeast QLD, only moving south for family. Melinda and her family returned to the Gold Coast after some time away, missing the beauty and unique fishing this stunning location has to offer. In 2019 they made the choice to sell up their family home in VIC and purchase a fishing charter. Combining their love of fishing with their desire to run a small family business. Jackson their young son is a passionate fisherman and can often be seen at the dock greeting customers with his father. He starts his days getting ready for school and then sneaking down to the canals for a fish, and is always excited to end the day fishing. To this fishing mad family they like to think of their customers as their extended fishing family. And as such like to greet them personally. Gayle their booking lady has fast become nana Gayle to young Jackson. Gayle is always keen to help in any way she can. So please come join our family and enjoy all the that the Gold Coast has to offer.
