Fish Of A Lifetime Guide Service
Book your next trip with Fish Of A Lifetime Guide Service and find out what the fishing in Port O'Connor is all about. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Marty and his son Captain Matt know them forwards and back.
These waters are known for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Mangrove Snapper, Flounder, Whiting, Red Snapper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Cobia, and more – with any luck, you'll hook into a few! Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself spinning, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don't forget to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized! A soft side cooler is definitely the best to bring for your goodies.
Your adventure begins aboard a 21' Mako center console, with high sides and a dry ride, that can carry up to 5 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can always ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Captain Matt did a great job on our fishing trip. We left on time and were catching fish by sunup. I was really impressed by how he made a connection with my grandsons (10 & 8) . He gave them clear instructions on how to present the bait, what they would feel if a fish was biting and how to set the hook. He did a good job of explaining the structure and where the fish would be in each spot we fished. It was an awesome day fishing. We caught a whole bunch of fish and we will be talking about it for years to come. We will definitely call Captain Matt for our next Port O'Connor fishing trip.

Hey David, thanks so much for the great review. We really appreciate it. We had a great time with you and your family and your grandsons are going to be true fisherman. Thanks again and hope to see y’all again soon and let’s go create some more memories

Port O'Connor, Texas, United States
I myself (Captain Marty) have been fishing in Port O'Connor for over 40 years and been guiding Professionally for nearly 30 years and strive to make every trip a memorable one and we aim for quality fish and to make memories on every trip. My son, who also is a guide, Captain Matt who will deckhand and as well as take guided trips on the vessel too. He has been fishing in Port O'Connor his whole life, and is very knowledgeable of the waters. We both do our very best to provide an excellent experience with professionalism and to make every trip worthwhile. We feel it's our duty to provide the most memorable time on the water because not everybody gets to experience catching a fish of a lifetime. We try to reproduce that on every trip. It is something we are very excited about, to see the smile after somebody lands the biggest fish they've ever caught in their life!! So we pride on ourselves and catching quality fish! So that means we will try our absolute best, we won't give up. We will go above and beyond to try to find some fish and make it a great experience!
