Mooching for salmon offers a more interactive experience, allowing customers to feel the excitement of actively hooking a fish. This technique involves casting out a line with a herring hooked to a leader and attached to a sinker. As the herring sinks and spins through the water, its movement mimics natural prey, drawing in the salmon and enticing them to bite.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own.
We will be offering a prize (Free Afternoon Trip and +1 Guest) for who catches the biggest 'kept' salmon for the year. The free trip can be redeemed the following year.
Your fishing machine for the day is a 21' Grady-White center console with room for 5 passengers. It has all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures and bait.
Keep in mind that salmon and lingcod may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks for you on board.

Kyle is an extremely knowledgeable captain of these Waters! He took us to 3 separate locations. We “hit on Salmon” at all three locations Kyle was most attentive to our needs during trip..instructing us in the technique of “mooching” when attempting to catch FISH. He was most attentive in baiting and other Fishing services he provided to us during our trip. We “Limited Out” in 2 hours. Booked this trip as an anniversary gift for my wife and I and let me just say, it was better than I could’ve ever imagined!! Captain Kyle was amazing and very knowledgeable about where the fish were located. Caught some huge salmon, and even some rock fish and dog fish but we threw those back of course (if only they were in season). Wife loved it so much she wants to book another one for next month! Thank you Captain Kyle for an amazing experience and anniversary and we definitely will be booking with you again very soon!!

CPT Kyle did a great job consistently putting us on fish. He was efficient, patient, and fun. Mooching for salmon was much more interactive than a traditional trolling tour and everyone on the boat caught fish. I’ll be booking another trip with Tengu Charters!

Went fishing wirh my sun going out of edmonds it was great trip. Caught a King Salmon that was was released due to the catch area .and coho I will be having tonight for dinner. I Highly recommend Tengu Charters
