Captain Bill has been fishing the Saginaw Bay for over 40 years. So jump aboard Chasing Tales Fishing Charters and let's catch some fish.
These waters are known for Walleye, Yellow Perch, and more – with any luck, it won't be long before "Fish on!" During the trip you will be trolling, for the Walleye and may catch several other species.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to inform Captain Bill. 2 Child-sized (90lbs or less) life vests are available and always on the boat, Bring drinks/snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
Capt. Bill currently runs a 2026 Hewscraft 270 Alaskan (31'11") with a cabin to get out of the weather that can carry up to 6 passengers comfortably .This boat comes with all the essentials. There's a portable toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you. Live bait is used almost always.
If you need the help of a First Mate to set lines etc . It's mandatory to tip the Mate 20% to show your appreciation. Captain Bill will discuss the need of a First Mate as soon as you book the Charter and he checks the availability of a Mate
Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are bottled water, sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. camera, Extra ice to take your catch home.

We had an awesome day out on the water. Bill is patient, kind, and a great guy to hang with and learn from. He was happy to show us the ropes and answer all of our questions- and he kept us on fish! We caught Walleye, Drum and White Bass. Boat is gorgeous, powerful and sparkling clean with a smooth ride. We hit some rain at the end of our trip and the Captain went out of his way to get us to a dry location to help us clean and filet. Shouts out to Lucy! We would happily book again with Bill. Thanks again for a great first experience!

Captain Bill helped me catch walleye, white bass and yellow perch. His boat is spacious, very reliable and durable. The equipment is well maintained. Captain Bill prioritizes safety in all aspects while taking clients out on the water. He watches the weather, has well organized life saving equipment and made sure I was comfortable during the ride. I recommend his charter for all anglers.
We met Capt Bill at the dock as planned, got out to our fishing spot and landed our first fish within 15 minutes. We landed 18 Walleyes had to release 3 due to size. Plenty of fish for awhile, including a white bass and catfish. Bill took the four Sheephead home for his dog. The new boat is awesome, lots of room to walk and work in. Thank you Capt Bill until the next trip!

This was my son and I's first charter trip. It was an awesome experience. We caught our limit in 3 hours. Our captain was great, he taught us a lot. We plan on doing it again soon.
Bill and jim are awesome! boat is in top notch condition . we walked away with 12 pounds of fresh walleye . lots of action throughout the trip . Definitely recommend if you have the time .
