Dietrich's Sportfishing Charters – 28’
If you’ve never fished Saginaw Bay before and you’re ready to go on Walleye-Perch hunt, book a trip with Dietrich Sportfishing Charters. Captain Shane Dietrich works very hard to put you on the fish and fill your cooler with a delicious catch.
Your transport and fishing platform for the day is Gypsea – a sturdy and spacious 28’ Cherokee that accommodates as many as 6 anglers. She’s powered by twin 270 HP Crusader engines, which means you’ll be on the fish within 30 minutes after leaving the shore. Another great perk of the vessel is that she has an 11’ beam, that allows your group to fully enjoy casting their lines and wrestling their catch. The boat’s got a toilet and fish finding electronics that will help you locate those spooky fish even faster.
Capt. Shane provides all bait and tackle for your fishing expedition, so you’re covered in that aspect. He will also do fish cleaning and bagging at the dock when you return so you can take those tasty fish home to eat. If you’re in the mood to eat, but not so much to cook, you can take your cleaned catch to a local restaurant and they will transform into something delicious.
The waters of Saginaw Bay are abundant in Walleye and Yellow Perch, and they will be your main suspect as you head out to the best fishing spots. Walleye fishing is at full swing since April, and Perch takes the spotlight starting August. The season is open until the end of October, so be sure to book a trip up until that point.
Capt. Shane loves having kids aboard, teaching them how to bait their hook and learn more about fish. Captain has an expression that on His boat is very much family friendly and he enjoys taking out parents with children out for a fun memorable outing.
