Windrift Sport Fishing
Step aboard the Windrift and experience the best fishing Saginaw Bay has to offer. Based out of Linwood, Michigan, Windrift Sport Fishing is in a prime location on Lake Huron's popular bay. Captain Douglas McQueen will be your guide on these waters. An avid angler throughout his life, he's been a certified captain since 1980. With decades of experience fishing the Great Lakes, there's nobody better to show you what fishing is all about here.
You'll drift along the bay aboard a 30' Sea Ray cruiser, powered by twin 340 HP Mercury engines. Restored in 2016 to modern standards, she's built for your comfort. Fitted with a kitchen, bed, and toilet, you're in for a smooth ride on board. She's also a vessel built for serious fishing. A livewell and outriggers are fitted on board, including space to set up to 16 trolling lines, so you'll have the advantage when trying to lure the bite.
It's all about the Perch on these waters. The largest of the family, Walleye, is targeted throughout the season, with Yellow Perch showing up from August to September. The bigger species are a match for any angler and you'll have to be on your A-game to keep these beauties on the end of your line all the way to the boat. Spring into action when you hear the reels screech, and use all of your strength to pull the fish in.
Capt. Douglas will do everything he can to get you on the fish, contacting other captains if necessary. At the end of the day, his first mate will clean and prepare your catch to take home. These fish are delicious, and so you're in for a real treat when you fry it up later that night. Just make sure to bring a cooler to keep the fish fresh when on board. Come and experience Great Lakes fishing, Windrift Sport Fishing is calling you aboard!
Please note that there's a legal limit of how many fish you can catch, and trips may end earlier than planned if you hit the number.
Capt. Douglas accepts credit card payments from Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.

Capt Doug and Ken made the outing a great experience. We were a party of 5 with two dads and 3 teenage sons. Unlike previous charters we have taken Capt Doug not only knew where the bite was he wasn't afraid to ensure we were the first boat set up in the area! Equipment and tackle were high quality and Ken got everyone going with ease....even "chicken wing"! Would highly recommend "Windrift" to future anglers hoping to experience Walleye fishing at its finest!

It was a great trip with a good group. We did have fish comminging most of the trip just a all around fun trip. We had fun with the boys they are life long sportmen.
Wow, what a great trip we had! Doug and Ken are super knowledgeable about catching Walleye and we learned so much, and caught just shy of our limit! The boat was extremely nice, and clean, and the equipment was top notch and worked really well! The guys had just received a brand new type of lure that we used and had great success with it! We will definitely be coming back to fish with them next year!! Highly recommend! Thanks guys!

It was fun. We had a great time with you two. You was right there and ready to grab the rod and start reeling. Yes we did try tham new baits and put in a order for some more. We look forward to fishing with you a gain.Thank you for fishing with the Windrift Charter’s.

Here is a balanced and helpful review you can post: ## Great Day on the Water with Wind Drift Charters! **Rating:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) We had a solid day out with Wind Drift Charters! Despite the elements fighting against us, the crew worked incredibly hard to make sure we had a successful trip. ### The Good: * **The Catch:** We ended up bringing home **18 walleye**! We easily had several more on the hook that unfortunately got off right at the boat, so the action was definitely there. * **The Crew:** The first mate was absolutely fantastic—attentive, quick, and kept things moving. The captain was highly professional, friendly, and clearly knew where the fish were hiding. ### The Not-So-Good: * **Weather & Scheduling:** The only real downsides to the experience were some scheduling issues leading up to the trip and some rough weather on the day of. Mother Nature didn't want to cooperate, which made things a bit challenging. **Final Verdict:** Even with the scheduling hiccups and choppy weather, the crew's professionalism and the excellent catch rate made this a great charter. I’d definitely fish with Wind Drift again!

Yes the weather was definitely against us. The fish was picking at the baits and in the end we lost some fish. The guys was fun and a good group to fish with. Hope to have you on the Windrift Charter’s again soon.
Can’t say enough good things about the trip we had with Captain Doug and First Mate Ken! Communication was great before the trip and they made my son and I feel very welcome onboard. We caught our limit with ease! Highly recommend if you have younger kids! We will be back!
