If you're here to make the most of fishing in Detroit, look no further than Reel Therapy Sportfishing. Captain Kurt and Captain Mark will be your guide, allowing you to benefit from years of angling experience.

These waters are known for Walleye, Yellow Perch, and more – with any luck, they'll make your reel scream. During the trip you might be spinning, jigging, trolling, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don't forget to bring snacks!

Your vessel for the day is a 19' Alumacraft aluminum fishing boat that can carry up to 3 passengers. It has all the essentials. Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, along with lures. Live bait may be included depending on the trip.

Some Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.

Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.

It's recommended to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Now, come aboard with Reel Therapy Sportfishing and get hooked!

Half day with Captain Kurt
Spring Detroit River Walleye (PM) on April 19, 2025
The boat caught 6 fish. I caught two of those. I was new to this style of fishing but was very pleased with the patience of the crew in teaching it to me. I felt like they were invested into my success making sure to answer any questions I had and show me pointers along the way. The crew is very friendly and personable, I would recommend Reel Therapy Sportfish to anyone!

Halef day perch trip
Fall Perch on September 29, 2025
Went out with captain Kurt for a half day perch trip, we set out, and were greeted with a beautiful sunrise. We had a nice COMFORTABLE trip over to the perch grounds. After a bit of hopping around, we found them in the stained water. We caught a lot of fish, but had to do a bit of sorting. We ended the day with 28 NICE keepers.

We fish for Walleye in the moring and limited out ,Kurt then took us to a restaurant that cooked our fish, which was amazing. Then, we finished out the afternoon, smashing 4 to 5 pounds. Small mouth
