Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures/tackle. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about the species you wish to catch to determine the best strategy.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid glass bottles.

I’ve been fishing for most of my life, and for more than 20 years, I’ve dreamed of catching a truly big Tarpon. This past weekend, that dream finally became a reality — and I couldn’t have asked for a better captain to experience it with my 15-year-old son. From the moment I booked the trip, Captain Andy was professional, responsive, and incredibly easy to work with. When we arrived, his boat was spotless, well-maintained, and perfectly set up for Tarpon fishing. More importantly, Captain Andy immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable. We were seeing Tarpon within five minutes of getting to our spot. Captain Andy knew exactly what he was doing and took the time to explain the process to both my son and me without overwhelming us. I consider myself a seasoned fisherman, but Tarpon fishing is a completely different game, and having someone with his knowledge and experience made all the difference. Then the action started. Captain Andy put me on the fish I had been waiting more than two decades to catch. The fight was absolutely incredible and something I’ll never forget. But what made the trip even more special was watching my son get in on the action. Captain Andy helped my 15-year-old hook several Tarpon of his own. Anyone who has ever Tarpon fished knows that simply getting one to eat and getting a hook in one is an accomplishment. We were fortunate enough not only to hook several, but to bring them all the way to the boat. For me, though, the biggest takeaway from this trip wasn’t just catching the fish of a lifetime. It was being able to experience it with my son and create a memory that we’ll both carry with us for the rest of our lives. That is something you simply can’t put a price on. Captain Andy is everything you want in a charter captain — knowledgeable, professional, patient, punctual, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He knows how to put you on fish, but just as importantly, he knows how to make the entire experience enjoyable. If you’re considering a Tarpon trip in the Tampa Bay area, I highly recommend Captain Andy without hesitation. Whether you’re an experienced angler or completely new to Tarpon fishing, you’ll be in excellent hands. An incredible captain, an incredible fishery, and an experience I’ll never forget. Thank you, Captain Andy, for helping make a 20+ year dream come true!
Me and my girlfriend were looking for a fun adventure so we booked a half day trip (4hours) starting at 8:30pm didnt end up coming in till 1:30am!! Hooked tons of fish but we caught about 5-6 snook 4 solid trout and Captain andy got me hooked in my first and PB redfish coming in at over 13.4lbs. In all was a super fun experience Captain Andy is super knowledgeable and knows where to go. Also he kept offering if we wanted to keep fishing and keep going and extendeing the trip for us to almost a 6 hour trip of non stop action.
Andy was excellent to deal with and is a great captain. He recommended that we move our trip to a different day and fish in the evening due to the weather and current fishing conditions. His advice did not disappoint. My 12-year-old son and I had a fantastic evening on the water. Andy was happy to extend our trip so we could stay on the fish, giving my son more time to reel in a few more catches. His boat and equipment are top-notch. I highly recommend Andy to anyone looking for a great fishing experience.
I live here locally in Tierra Verde. My grandchildren are obsessed with fishing. Captain Andy was so patient and taught them some very important things. Best part… Boca Ciega Bay is filled with Snapper, Red Fish, Ladyfish, Trout that they caught. We saw Snook ( that we could only admire because the dolphins attacked🤣 and had a feast. It was a great day! Captain Andy also showed how one should dress on a boat in July👍 He’s highly experienced and comes from a long line of fishermen.

Captain Andy was very knowledgeable of the area. He had a very nice boat to fish from and was very accommodating to fishing styles. I have always wanted to fly fish for trout, reds and snook. He put us on the fish and knew the best hours of the day, to fish to have the most success. I would highly recommend Andy for your next fishing trip. I will fish with him again if I’m ever back in this area.
