Nugget Fishing Charters
Ready to catch some fish in Port Renfrew? Nugget Fishing Charters is here to make it happen!
Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Pink Salmon, Lingcod, Rockfish, Halibut, and more could be biting if you cast your line at the right time of year. On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
You'll be casting lines from a 26' Hourston Glascraft pilothouse that can carry up to 4 passengers. It has downriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Kai will supply rods and reels for you.
Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Kai is a great fisherman and knows the waters well. We could not keep the fish off the lines! Highly recommended.
We highly recommend Nugget Fishing Charters, if you're trying to catch fish. Kai is a class act fishing guide, taking you to the right spots at the right time. His realtime understanding of the water, fish and culture make it as easy and enjoyable as possible. The guy is winner. Make sure to be prepared to transport some fish back.
I had a great day fishing with Kai! He was knowledgeable, professional & also made the day extra fun with his love for fishing. We caught our limits for halibut and got into some nice springs as well, we ended the day with bringing up traps to grab some fresh crab on the way back to the docks. Doesn't get any better, was an absolute blast! Highly recommend 👍

I've had the great fortune of fishing with Kai on several occasions. If you want to catch fish, go out with Kai. He is professional, friendly and has a great sense of humor. FISH ON!!
Port Renfrew, British Columbia, Canada
With a lifelong connection to the ocean and over a decade of hands-on experience, I've been guiding fishing adventures out of Port Renfrew since 2018. My journey began long before that, working as a commercial fisherman aboard seine boats, longliners, and trollers. Those early years taught me not just how to fish—but how to read the water, respect the resource, and understand the rhythm of the ocean. Today, I bring that deep-rooted knowledge and passion to every trip, welcoming anglers of all skill levels. Whether you're picking up a rod for the first time or you've spent your life on the water, I'm here to help you have an unforgettable experience. Port Renfrew isn't just where we fish—it's where I feel most connected to the sea. I believe in fishing responsibly, respecting our marine ecosystems, and preserving the ocean's bounty for future generations. Join me on the water, and let's chase the next great catch together.
