These waters hold game fish like Redfish, Snook, Speckled Trout, Mangrove Snapper, Gag Grouper, Cobia, Tarpon, Grunt, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Flounder, Hogfish, and more, depending on the season. On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Salty Scales Charters is a kid-friendly charter service, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites!
You'll be casting lines from a 25' Avenger Custom by Marauder, with room for 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

I can’t express enough how great of time I’ve had fishing with Captain Josh. From trophy fish hunting with my buddies, to catching a variety of fish with me ,the wife and kids. My family and friends are all hooked and say “when’s the next trip” constantly. Fishing with Captain Josh has truly been a pleasure and some of the most memorable moments I’ve had with my friends and family. If you want to get your moneys worth out of a fishing charter in Tampa I highly recommend Salty Scales Fishing Charter. I’ve had poor experiences with other charters in the area but I’ve never been disappointed here, every trip has highly exceeded my expectations. Top notch fishing equipment and the cleanest charter boat I’ve ever been on. Very impressed with the professionalism. Will be back very soon!

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
