Palmetto Tide Charters 

My husband and I have been coming to Charleston to vacation for years. The last time we booked a fishing trip was 11 years ago with a different company and we did not enjoy it. During that unrelated trip, we stayed in the shallows and didnt catch a single fish. This trip was the exact opposite of that. The captain was very knowledgeable, kind and respectful. He engaged and conversed with my 10 year old (autistic) son. My son was thrilled to show off his knowledge of fish and had the time of his life. Unfortunately, as is sometimes the way with fishing, we didn’t catch a ton of fish but are more than satisfied with the fish we did catch. One of my son’s goals was to catch a Sea Bass and as luck would have it, a Black Sea Bass was the first one we caught. We also caught a ray, a toadfish and a Cobia. The Cobia was a surprise and the Captain was ready to dive into the water to make sure the fish was secured. Being out on the water with the Captain felt like fishing with a family friend. If there was a downside at all, it was that my 8 year old daughter was seasick for most of the time on the water, but even then the captain couldn’t have been better - as far as playing I SPY with her to keep her focusing on different objects. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and will be returning year after year to fish with him. My son said it was one of the best days he has had, ever.

A good morning on the water. Things started out slow at our first spot but we got a couple bites and landed a small ray. We had been talking with Joeseph and decided to swing by a spot to look for sharks teeth and then try for some sharks after. We spent around 20 minutes finding fossils and then headed out to the shark location. Things started out slow with a lot of bait stolen but then things picked up. We landed 3 sharks including one over 4 feet. We also hooked into large ray but it broke the line after a good fight. Overall a good time and a fun and pleasant experience

Captain Joe is so much fun! Not only did he put us on some nice fish, he made the trip enjoyable! He obviously loves his job of being a Charter Captain! Initially, I chose his charter because it sounded like the perfect fit for my grown son, 2 grandchildren and myself. The way he interacted with all of us was amazing! It was well worth the price!

This captain deserves a lot of credit. He made it easy to bring my toddler and went with the flow with ease. He was super chill, great conversationalist, but not overbearing at all. Just a very natural and kind person to be around and knows his stuff too. I truly enjoyed it (and his oldies beach vibes music too, lol!) and would definitely recommend him to anyone. We will also be sure to come back to him if we ever come back to the area. Thank you for a great trip!

Great experience out on the water with Palmetto Tide Charters. Captain Joseph was very knowledgable about the area and how to fish the local waters. We loaded up on bait to start the day then started catching sharks, rays, and redfish. Everyone on the boat had a great time and we would definitely fish with Joseph again!

such a fun morning. we did a four hour charter, started it with bait catching which makes you appreciate the work so much more. captain was knowledgeable, fun to be around and led us to the best places for two red fish and two shark catches. cannot recommend him enough!! if youre in charleston definitely reccomend!!

Captain Joseph was awesome. He got us on the fish right away and kept my 2 young boys interested and involved at all times. Highly recommend!

Fun morning on the water. Captain Joseph was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We hooked into fish at multple spots. My son and I caught our largest redfish (26”) as the highlight of the day. I would definitely recommend a trip with Pslmetto Tide.

We had such a wonderful time. Captian Joseph put us on all the honey holes. His knowledge and guidance when we hooked a fish was super helpful especially for the younger members in our party. Definitely recommend booking with captian Joseph and Palmetto Tide Charters.

Capt reached out before our trip and advised us about attire to bring/wear! Everyone in our party caught fish! Joseph was very knowledgeable and helped us snag several nice sized fish! The whole experience was 5star and very enjoyable! Will def call him again on our next visit!
