Our world class fishery is known for everything from trophy Blue Marlin to Spanish Mackerel fishing. Come experience all that Topsail Beach and Onslow Bay have to offer.
We offer it all. From nearshore trips targeting Spanish Mackerel to Full Day Offshore Gulfstream trips targeting trophy Blue Marlins and everything in between. Our crew specializes in all the local area has to offer.
Our 40 ft Contender is the biggest and baddest in the fleet. We have ample seating, full on-board WIFI to stay connect even when 70 miles offshore, as well as a fully functional fresh water restroom in the center consol.
Our crew of captains is made up of some of the most experienced guides the area has to offer. Even out first mates are Licensed Captains. We don't skimp when it comes to our crew.
If fishing isn't your thing we also offer sunset cruises and destination cruises to nearby Morehead City and the Beaufort area.
Veteran owned and operated.
Trip prices listed do not include mates tip or fuel surcharge. The fuel varies by trip, the max charge is 15 percent.

Great Charter,Trip, Captain, & First Mate
Half Day Trip – Offshore on June 8, 2026 • 4 adults
Half Day Trip- We headed out about 10 miles after catching some bait in the inlet. They immediately put us on Amberjack. We caught about (10) 30lb jacks in just a few hours. If youve never caught one, get ready for a work out! Fun stuff! Great Captain , great first mate, great boat. You wont be disappointed. Cant wait until next time.
Also, i had left my yeti on the boat. The evening after our trip, captain Drew called me to tell me he found it, and that he would meet me the following afternoon to return it. We met up the following day. A true testament to the type of guy Captain Drew is.
Im having a beer in that yeti right now😉, cheers and tight lines!

Half Day Trip – Offshore on March 1, 2026 • 2 adults
Dreadknot Sportfishing with Capt Drew and First Officer, JP absolutely know what they are doing. The communication with Drew prior to the charter date was exceptional. He assisted us in finding a better day on the water which turned out to be perfect because it was warmer and the seas were calmer!
Drew had no issues putting us on fish every time we slightly moved the boat just a few feet. It was exciting.
Both JP and Drew were kind, friendly, welcoming and so very helpful. Great company to be around. We had so much fun on this trip. We truly enjoyed the conversations, catching tons of fish and learning new things.
Our arms were sore from catching fish but it was such a blast and we will Definitely be going back out again with Dreadknot Sportfishing. Thank you Drew and JP.

Our party of five adults. (3 men 2 women) were well taken care of by the great crew of the DREADKNOT. Drew and J.P. are total pros in their knowledge about fish, fishing gear and equipment, safety practices, and weather. We were briefed on the features of the boat, the emergency procedures, and plans for the day. With their guidance and assistance when needed, we were more than happy with our catch of the day! Drew and J.P.
made it fun. They were accommodating, and fair. These are two good guys who have a good thing going! We’ll be back!

Incredible 1st Charter with my Family
3/4 Day Trip – Offshore on July 15, 2025 • 2 adults • 3 children
I booked this trip for my family and Father in Law after reviewing many of the other Topsail/ Snead’s Ferry option. I wanted a bigger boat if we were traveling offshore and After reading many of the reviews I was confident it would be a good trip. Captain Drew and First Mate JP (both military veterans) were amazing! They were knowledgeable, friendly, and great with my boys and my wife. We caught a ton of fish (over 60) and kept around 36. Trolling was a bit slow but we did catch some small Mahi, a King Mackerel and a False Albacore. Captain Drew knew just where to go to fill the coolers and we caught endless Snapper, Sea Bass, Hurricane Grunt, and Porto. My family had the time of their lives! Thanks to both Drew and JP for a wonderful day!
