The Victoria, Metchosin, and Sooke areas have some of the best fishing in the world, so let Salty Doug's Fishing Charter help you catch some beauties.

Familes wanting to take the kids out for a day of fun, will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so let the Captain know the sizes of the kiddies so he can have the PFDs onboard for them.

Depending on the season, you might hook into Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Pink Salmon, Halibut, Lingcod, Rockfish, Crab, and plenty more. You'll target your catch by trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

You'll be casting lines from a 22' Ocean Pro Aluminum (Transport Canada Small Vessel Compliance Certified) with space for 6 passengers. It has downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a small toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.

You need to buy a Canadian tidal fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Salmon fishing requires a stamp on your Tidal licence.

Don't leave home without sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. Dress for the weather and bring a rain jacket. Bring drinks and food as there is no services on board. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

And that's it! Your fishing trip with Salty Doug's Fishing Charter is just a click away.

Captain Doug is the best!
Half Day Trip (AM) on May 23, 20263 adults

Captain Doug is an awesome guy, never a dull moment on his boat! He put us on fish almost immediately, we caught 4 chinook in a short morning trip. He knows his stuff! This is a great trip for beginners or seasoned fisherman. Doug is the best captain in the area. If you plan on booking with him, don't be afraid of rain or could weather, his boat has a great cab fhat keeps the wind and dain away! I definitely recommend booking with him for your next fishing trip.

Full Day Trip on June 11, 2026

If you're looking for a great day on the water. Doug is your guy. Even if we wouldn't have caught fish (we caught a bunch) it would've been a great day. Doug is personable and knows his fishing. Doug thank you for a memory that our family will never forget, hope that you will continue to make memories for many other people out there.
