Fly Fishing Trips:
In the early spring as water temperatures begin to warm up, hoards of Tarpon make their way to the inshore waters of Boca Grande and the Charlotte Harbor. Fly fishing for these big fish is unlike anything else on the planet. Rather than fishing, the days spent on the water looking for these beasts is more of a hunt. Your heart will race and your knees will shake. Tarpon fishing is magical, raw and very special when everything comes together.
When Tarpon are not around, the beautiful grass flats, creeks, and mangrove estuaries of the Charlotte Harbor make sight fishing with a fly rod as fun as it gets. Redfish and Snook are the main targets of a day of backcountry sight fishing.
Negative tides in the fall and winter put Redfish right in their natural habitat. Shallow, clear water is where they thrive. These fish love to 'root' around in grass and mud looking for their next meal. When its shallow enough, they will stick their tails out of the water in search of crabs, shrimp, and worms. These tailing opportunities are a thrill for saltwater fly fisherman.
Snook fishing is very similar to this. They love to sit on sandy banks and sulk in the sunlight, especially in the winter time. Although they are extremely smart and have great eyesight, hooking a big Snook on fly is as fun as it gets.
Artificial Spin Fishing:
If you don't have a passion for fly fishing but still love the shallow water thrill, do not worry! Light tackle spin fishing is an exciting time for anyone looking to experience inshore fishing. Redfish, Snook, Trout, and Jack Crevalle are all common catches in a day of throwing lures in Boca Grande. This type of fishing provides a lot of hookups and is fun for all ages!

I have been fishing and boating these local waters since before I could walk. Weekend sandbar missions as a toddler with my parents quickly evolved into flats fishing fun as a young teenager. My friends and I were always out fishing somewhere it seemed, whether it was a pond to catch bass or on the bow of the bay boat catching snook. After I got ahold of a fly rod at 12 years old, there was no turning back! I quickly became obsessed with the awesome sight fishing opportunuties this area has to offer. Before I got my captains license at 18 years old, almost everyday would a buddy and I race to the boat ramp after school and spend hours poling and learning new areas on the water. As a young adult, I now spend my days trying to get better than each day before, and perfect my craft so my clients can have a trip of their lifetime. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles this job creates and the awesome memories my clients and I get to share!
