If you're going to cast a line in Grand Baie, look no further than Horizon Maurice. Your guide for the day is Captain Avi, giving you access to their local experience.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Yellowfin Tuna, Albacore Tuna, Dogtooth Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Shortbill Spearfish, Giant Trevally, Sailfish, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Great Barracuda, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and who knows what else! On these trips, it’s common to troll using heavy tackle.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Snacks are also a good idea to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
Capt. Avi operates a 55' Speville Craft sportfishing vessel that holds up to 5 passengers. It has outriggers, a fighting chair, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Don't forget to bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks for you on board.
Horizon Maurice will make it easy for you to go fishing in Grand Baie. So, how about booking that trip?
