Jerry goes for the hot bite at the moment. As with most fishing, things are seasonal. Paddlefish are so abundant that he usually will go after other species and then catch a paddlefish or two as an added bonus. They can be had year round.
From October till February Jerry focuses on Blue Catfish. Mainly fishing with 14 rods off anchor with cut bait. The limit is 15 per person and fish up to 80 lbs can be had. Most are 4 to 15. All the guides on Oologah catch picture and release anything over 10lbs and Jerry is no exception.
Oologah has plenty of Hybrid Striped Bass. The best bite is May to October. The limit is 20 and sandbass is unlimited. A super fun hard fighting fish.
Paddlefish/Spoonbill are plentiful. Be ready for a fight as they can weigh up to 70 lbs on Oologah. It's a very unique fish. The limit to keep is one per day but you can catch and release all you want.

Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group over 18. This information is available online at the Oklahoma Dept of Wildlife Conservation website. Everyone fishing for Paddlefish, regardless of age are required to get a free permit available there.
