Rodanthe has a fish with your name on it, so let Max's Boating Adventures help you catch it! Having grown up on the water behind Rodanthe, Captain Max is prepared to put you on fish.
These waters are known for Red Drum, Speckled Trout, Bluefish, Sheepshead, Flounder, Black Drum, and more – with any luck, you'll hook into a few! You can expect to do some light tackle fishing with both lures and cut bait. The boat is outfitted with smooth Daiwa reels and custom fishing rods made by the captain.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks to keep their stamina going!
Your boat for the day is a 21' Mr B's center console with capacity for 4 passengers. It is equipped with a quiet Yamaha 115 and jackplate to get into the shallow. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, as well as lures.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Water will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We had an absolutely incredible time on our Outer Banks charter with Captain Max! From the very beginning, Max’s communication was top-notch. He was completely upfront and honest about how the intense summer heat was affecting the fish and altering their patterns, which we deeply appreciated. Despite the tough, warm conditions, Max worked tirelessly to put us on the fish. The highlight of the trip, however, was how Captain Max treated my son. My boy had about a thousand questions for him, and Max answered every single one with genuine patience and a smile. He made my son feel like a true part of the crew. We ended up catching some fantastic fish and, more importantly, making memories that our family will cherish forever. If you are looking for an experienced, honest, and incredibly family-friendly Captain in the OBX, look no further than Captain Max. We will definitely be booking with him again!

Max is a special young man with natural abilities to provide you with a great experience. Max grew up with this sound as his backyard literally. He's more than capable of finding the fish, using instincts and technique. When we went out with him he chose to read the waters, waves, and temperatures to guide us to the best for this day. My wife and I took the half day tour and caught seven total fish. Including a 48" Red drum. We will be repeat customers.

Capt. Max delivered an outstanding experience on the Pamlico Sound. His knowledge of the waterways is impressive—you can tell he’s spent years learning every channel, flat, and fishing spot. Captain Max was great we caught a few really nice blues and a bunch of smaller ones. Even after a pod of 100 dolphins came through he still put us on more fish. Thanks again captain Max see ya next time we are back in town.

My group had a great time fishing with Max this week! The water was warm and things were a little slow, but Max tried every trick in the book and didn’t give up! We caught five blue fish and three stingrays. Max is personable, experienced, and works hard for you. He definitely earned his keep!
