There's a fish with your name on it in Whittier and Whittier Marine will help you catch it! With and experienced captain at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands.

These waters are known for Chinook Salmon, Chum Salmon, Coho Salmon, Pink Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, and more – with any luck, it won't take long to hook into some. On the day of your trip you're likely to troll using light tackle. We also offer fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.

Whittier Marine welcomes anglers of all ages, including kids, so get 'em offline and onto the water! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Children 12 and under will need to wear one while onboard. Feel free to bring your own snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!

You'll step aboard a 39' Fibercraft sportfishing vessel with space for 6 passengers. It has downriggers, and all the essentials. There's a clean toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures.

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.

Anyone 16 and under will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This is easily available online at the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game license store. A King Salmon stamp is needed if targeting Chinook.

It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Whittier Marine will make it easy for you to go fishing in Whittier. So, how about booking that trip?

paid for salmon trip but went pacific cod fishing
Full Day Trip – Salmon on June 30, 20264 adults

Overall, the trip was fantastic! We paid for 8 hours, but we ended up spending 12 hours on the water fishing, making it extra special. The captain was lively and positive, which added to the great atmosphere. The inside of the boat looked a bit old, but it served its purpose perfectly. The seats were a little hard, but it didn’t take away from the fun. I’d definitely love to go again, though next time I will skip fishing for rockfish in 1000’ of water—it really wore me out reeling in all that line for just one catch! My family had a great time too, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone again soon. Thanks for an amazing adventure!

Great Trip
Full Day Trip – Salmon on July 8, 20265 adults

Even do fishing was slow, the trip was great. A clean nice boat just right for a smaller group up to 6 people. Captain Rob and his deck hand Vince were absolutely great. Verry attentive, professional and first of all great friendly people. This is our second trip with this company and will be back soon. I highly recommend this outfit they went far and beyond to make sure everyone on board got Fish.

Fishing has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I've spent most of my life around boats and have over 26 years of experience on Alaskan waters. In addition to charter boats, I often operate larger vessels in the offseason. I spend a lot of time on the water. Salmon Sharks are probably my favorite Alaskan species because of their uniqueness, but I love the challenge of finding nice Halibut consistently as well as chasing all of the other fish species native to Alaska and elsewhere.
