Alaskan 4 Star Charters
It's time to plan your next fishing trip, and head over to Whittier for a day with Captain Jody and the Alaskan 4 Star Charters. Capt. Jody has been fishing in this area for 5 decades! It's safe to say he'll take you to the best spots where he knows the bite to be good regularly.
These trips are good for 6 people on the 35' Epic aluminum boat. There is plenty of shelter from the elements on board. The boat has twin engines that will get you far out to the fishing grounds faster than other boats.
The trips are 11 hours long as the ride to the fishing grounds will take a minimum of 2 hours. Children of all ages are welcome – your captain and crew love having little ones aboard! The captain suggests adding some Black Bass fishing to the trip to keep it interesting for the kids.
You'll be able to target Coho, Chum, Sockeye, Pink, and Chinook Salmon, as well as Halibut, Lingcod, Seabass, Rockfish, and more. The Salmon can put up a good fight and are delicious to eat. Halibut can grow to huge lengths and are also prized at the dinner table. The captain will advise what you can keep and which should be released.
You'll need to bring plenty of layers with you – you can always take off layers but you can't put on what you don't have! Wear light-soled shoes and have a rain jacket with you. You'll need to bring a fishing license along – it's best to buy this before the trip to not eat into your fishing time. One small cooler of food and drink can be bought along, but please be aware there is limited space on board.
After the trip, the captain will direct you to the best places to have your fish vacuum packed and sent home.
Book the trip of a lifetime with Alaskan 4 Star Charters now!
***IMPORTANT NOTICE***
Halibut Stamp Tax is being introduced where all anglers fishing for Halibut will need to pay $20 directly to the captain who then settles the tax with the government. This tax is not included in the trip prices displayed below.

I got off Discovery Princess at 6:15 AM. Capt. Jody was waiting for me in the parking lot for a two minute drive to the marina. It was a glorious day on the water, sea lions, whales breeching, glaciers, snow capped mountains and constant Halibut and Cod! Capt. Darryl filleted the fish and guided us to where you ship your catch home! Both men paid particular attention to the 5 year old fisherman with an electric reel who went on to catch many fish in 300 to 400’ depths. Both captains treated the fisherman like family! Great guys! Outstanding day!

Thomas. thanks so much for the kind words. buddy your always welcome on my boat. can't wait to here about your adventures and get you back on the waters of PWS. see you again....

Super knowledgeable crew! Not only did they have their spots to target for the different types of fish, they also had a lot of history to share on the area, since they are one of the longest running guide services running out of Whittier.

thanks buddy. we try our best. hope this is not the only trip you have with us. stay intouch after all your family now. lol
captain and first mate were great and knowledgeable. got us on the fish and kept us catching fish

Hay, thanks for an amazing trip you guys all were great i hope to see you again.

We went out with Captain Darryl and had a wonderful time. We went with family that we hadn’t seen in a long time. We had the boat to ourselves and 1/2 of us didn’t have a clue of what we were doing. The other 1/2 were experienced fishermen. Captain Darryl gave us new fishermen all the help we needed. And let the more experiences people just run with it, giving support when needed. We all brought in several fish. I would recommend Alaska Four Star Carters to anyone looking to have fun and get some fish. We also got to see whales, otters, sea lions and seals. I can’t thank them enough for all the great memories.

Thank you. Captain Darryl and I try our best to make every trip a great trip. Sorry I wasn't with you all this time. But next time you will have to put up with both of us. Lol
Sorry, this took so long. Went to Alaska the first week in August to fish Halibut with Alaska 4-Star Charters. Could not have picked a better crew!! Captain Jodi got us on fish right away. Co-Capitan Darryl gave us a demo on equipment and technique, then let us loose. After that, they spent their time coaching, teaching and making sure everyone caught fish and had fun. We caught Rockfish, Cod, Halibut and Salmon. I even hooked a big skate. Thanks for the memories! Trying to get a group together to come back. You guys rock!! P.S. A Patch is on the way. Jim

cant wait to see you clowns again. thanks for the kind words. stay safe and healthy, and work on that arm strength. lol PS. heres a pic of what happpens when you do it your way, instead of our way. lmao
