Hoping to go fishing in Fort Lauderdale? HammerCatch is your ticket!
Amberjack, Skipjack, Cobia, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Snowy Grouper, Yellowfin Grouper, African Pompano Jack, Jack Crevalle, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Atlantic Mackerel, and more can be found in these waters, depending on when you go.
On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish. Our captains can also help you try kite fishing. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.
Trips with HammerCatch are open to the whole family, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites so that everyone stays happy and energized!
Your day begins aboard a 35' HammerCat Center console with capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't leave home without sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
The click of a button is the only thing keeping you from a great day on the water with HammerCatch!
