Depending on conditions, you might hook into Tarpon, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Snook, Mangrove Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Black Grouper, Wahoo, Sailfish, and anything else that bites. On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Capt. Pete operates a 26' Pathfinder center console that holds up to 5 passengers. It has all the essentials. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as NO GLASS BOTTLES. There will be some light snacks for you on board.

Dylan and Pete were awesome! They made the trip special with their personal stories of life in the Keys. Fishing was almost secondary to the good time. We did the reef fishing and didnt catch much but it wasnt because of lack of skill or effort on their part. These guys definitely are highly experienced, have a nice clean and fast boat and couldnt have been more polite and patient with us. Highly recommended and would use again. Wish we had booked for longer.
This offshore trip with my 16yo son was amazing. Pete and his first mate, Ryan, were helpful and fun to be around. Although we’re expeienced anglers back in the midwest, We learned a lot about unique techniques of deep sea fishing. We caught some amazing blackfin tuna, skipjack tuna, and almaco jack. Ate some here and packing some for home. Pete is super detailed about fishing techniques great at explaining. Thanks for making a fun ans worthwhile day. Rob
Captain Pete found monsters that our biceps will remind us of for days and also the varieties everyone wants for the best catch and cook experiences. The water/currents were a challenge, but he put us on the fish despite tough conditions. We had a great trip!
Talk about someone that knows what they are doing! Captain Peter walked us exactly through what we were going to catch before we even left the dock. He proceeded to deliver on what he promised. Took care of all of us on the boat, a mix of beginner to advanced level, with extraordinary skill and patience. We are already planning to book again with Captain Peter & A Fishing Guru. We had the absolute best time fishing with Captain Pete! He put us right on the fish, and we caught our limit of both mangrove snapper and trout. The boat is fantastic—clean, comfortable, and perfect for a great day out. Captain Pete himself is awesome, super fun to be around, and really knows his stuff. If you want an amazing, productive fishing trip, he is definitely your guy. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back!
