There's a fish with your name on it in Islamorada and A Fishing Guru will help you catch it! With Captain Dylan at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Mutton Snapper, Sailfish, Goliath Grouper, Yellowtail Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Vermilion Snapper, Wahoo, Lesser Amberjack, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Tilefish, and plenty more. On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish using heavy tackle.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Also remember to bring snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Your day begins aboard a 39' Contender that can carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. You'll find rods, reels, bait, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks provided on board.

Dylan and his brother Ryan were great and our family really enjoyed them both. Originally we booked for a 4 hour reef fishing but after informing Dylan some of the girls may be prone to getting sea sick he suggested we opt for the offshore- trolling fishing vs sitting at and bottom fishing we did not regret that decision at all. They were more than happy to accommodate the last minute change of plans, the fish were biting and we managed to catch several keepers….blackfin tunas, mahi, and a Almaco jack. They were both helpful and were not afraid to share any valuable fishing knowledge they have, on top of all that their 39’ contender speaks for itself. Plenty of space to move around with a group of 6 and they made us feel at home. Only thing we would do differently is book a full day instead of 4 hours.
We had an amazing experience with The Fishing Guru in Islamorada! Captain Daryl and mate George were incredible from start to finish—friendly, knowledgeable, and great with our kids (ages 13 and 10), who had an absolute blast. We caught 13 yellowtail snapper, including one impressive 23” fish! The action was steady and exciting the whole trip. George made everything easy—walk on, fish, then walk off with all of our catch perfectly filleted and ready to go. Highly recommend this crew if you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly fishing trip in the Keys. We’ll definitely be back! 🎣

Thank you Perry, looking forward to our next trip!
Dylan and Pete were great. They put us on nonstop fish and taught us a lot along the way. If someone is looking for a trip where the team is personable and makes sure that you have a fun and productive trip, this is it. Thanks gain guys! We will be booking again.

Took a chance with Capt Dylan. He worked super hard to put us on fish and it paid off. He is extremely personable and made sure that both myself and my wife were having a good time. His mate Howard is excellent! He never stops moving and is a great teacher. The boat is immaculate and the gear is top notch. We will definitely be booking with Capt Dylan again!
