Head to Wisconsin to join WIFinlanders Guide Service for a fun-filled adventure on Lake Michigan. If you don't have a big party and want to fish with a couple of fishing buddies or your kids, this family-friendly company is an excellent choice.

During the spring and summer months, Captain Tim Hyvonen uses trolling as his main method to target and tach Trout and Salmon. If you are planning a trip in fall, Capt. Tim will pull out his spinning rods and jig for staging Chinook Salmon, Brown Trout, and Coho Salmon. Steelhead and Lake Trout are also around all throughout the season.

Once Salmon move into the rivers, Capt. Tim brings out the fly rods and targets them using large streamers. Later in the season, you can catch Steelhead with float rods, centerpins, and fly rods.

If the open waters of Lake Michigan are not your main goal, let Capt. Tim show you some hot spots that the inland lakes have to offer. There, you will be able to target Bluegill, Bass, Northern Pike, and Crappie.

Your boat for the day will be a 20' Skeeter MX-2025, which is an excellent fishing machine for up to 4 anglers. It comes powered by a single 200 HP Yamaha engine and outfitted with everything you need for a successful fishing trip.

You will need to purchase a valid Wisconsin fishing license and bring your choice of drinks and snacks. All the rods, reels, and tackle will be provided by Capt. Tim.

Tim is a fantastic captain
5 Hour Trip (AM) on July 4, 20261 adult1 child

Tim, thanks for giving us a day we’ll remember. He explained everything in a way that made us feel right at home. Tim worked nonstop the entire trip, from castoff, tips on reeling in the fish, to filleting on shore. We couldn’t have asked for a more knowledgeable captain

Response from Captain

thank you for coming out and the review Brad!

I started fishing at a very early age and landed my first Brown Trout out of the Root River at 5 years old and I was hooked. For the past 25 years, I have learned and created different techniques that have produced fish time and time again. After spending three years in the Coast Guard I came back home and started my own business, WIFinlander Guide Service, with a focus in springtime Steelhead in the rivers of Lake Michigan. I spent a few years fishing with other tournament fishermen and other charter captains learning the ropes and in 2014, I bought my first boat and started trolling on Lake Michigan and did very well in my first Salmon A Rama out of my own boat. Since then, I have continued to learn and progress and last fall I decided to embark on getting my Captains License. There is no better feeling than seeing the smile on someone's face who just caught either their first or biggest Trout/Salmon.
