Now is the time to get on the water with Big Energy Guide Service as we run full-day guided Spring Chinook salmon trips on the Willamette River. The bite has been improving week by week, and conditions are setting up for some incredible fishing.

Spend a full day chasing one of the Pacific Northwest’s most prized salmon aboard a fully equipped boat with an experienced local guide who knows how to read the river and put you in the right water. Whether you’re an experienced angler or looking to catch your very first Chinook, we’ve got everything covered for a smooth and productive day.

From the Portland area, we’ll launch into prime water and focus on targeting trophy Springers using proven techniques, quality gear, and the right setups for changing river conditions. All rods, reels, tackle, and bait are provided, so you can just show up and fish.

There’s nothing like that moment when a Willamette River Spring Chinook crushes the gear and the rod buries - it’s what these trips are all about.

Be sure to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, and bottled water. Additional drinks are welcome upon request, but please note that alcohol is not permitted.

Family friendly, beginner friendly, and dialed for serious anglers alike. Prime dates are limited and the best bites don’t last long, so now’s the time to book your trip on the water.

Big Fish Energy
8 Hour Trip on June 13, 2026

Thanks to Captain EJ, I landed my first big ole June hog spring Chinook salmon!!! 🎣 I only started fishing for something larger than bass this year and EJ explained the equipment and how to fish in a very clear manner making fishing easy for any level, including beginners and kids. EJ is very patient. He makes the atmosphere on the boat, relaxing and fun. I definitely recommend him for any skill level trip.

June fishing trip
8 Hour Trip on June 14, 2026

Had an awesome full-day trip with Captain EJ and highly recommend booking him for a trip! EJ was great about explaining everything he was doing, the strategies for finding/catching fish, and giving tips to make sure we landed everything in the boat. He has a great positive attitude and is easy to talk to. EJ put us on the fish and made the whole day a great experience!
