Captain Troy Birchfield is a friendly and fun person to be around, and he loves families and children. He enjoys teaching newcomers different fishing techniques and seeing their delighted faces when they catch their first fish, and will stop at nothing to make sure you get what you want. Get in touch, and he can even arrange overnight excursions.
His boat is a luxurious 52' Hatteras convertible sportfishing boat. Restored in 2013, she features all modern amenities, so your comfort is ensured. She boasts a bedroom, 2 bathrooms, 2 showers, leather couches, a 46-inch TV, as well as 3 air conditioners and a full kitchen with an ice maker. You'll want for nothing when aboard, so come and live the high life.
She's also a serious sportfishing vessel, featuring a GPS, radar, VHF radio, and a fishfinder to locate the best fishing spots full of fish waiting to bite, so you won't waste a second. She boasts all the necessary safety equipment, so you've got nothing to worry about as you go after the catch of a lifetime.
Destin is known as the "sportfishing capital of the world" and you'll have access to plenty of species during your time aboard. From Groupers, Snappers and Jacks nearshore, to Wahoo, Spanish Mackerel, Blackfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, and mighty sharks such as Mako and Hammerhead offshore, there's something for everyone.

Reel Chill was a fishing thrill
Captain Troy, Ms Suzanne & First mate Jake were the best. The captain got us on meat and we were catching so many fish our forearm and hands were tired. We maxed out of vermillion snapper, got a red snapper and a grouper. As soon as our lines needed more bait Jake was there baiting the hook. Ms Suzanne helped my DIL since she was new to fishing and also took many photos. Boat was comfortable and it had AC and water mister on deck. You will not go wrong with the Reel Chill. A Perfect Day Fishing
We couldn’t have asked for a better day, a better captain or crew! Captain Troy, Captain Suzanne and First Mate Dakota were the best at what they do! As soon as we got some bait fish in the boat we were off to get some snapper since it was opening day. Right off the bat we were yelling fish on! We did the 6 hour trip and we were able to limit out in snapper and even brought home a red grouper. We caught several red grouper that weren’t quite big enough, but we tossed them back to do some more growing. Troy, Suzanne and Dakota are really personable and friendly. I highly recommend going with them! We plan on booking them next time we are here!

Perfect family trip
I booked a 9 hour trip for my son in law and two grandchildren, ages 11 and 9. A perfect trip from start to finish. The boat was extremely comfortable and well equipped. Capt Troy, Capt Suzanne and 1st mate Jake worked extremely hard and they were very attentive. They were extremely pleasant and great with the kids. I’ve fished the Destin Charter Fleet for 35 years and this was by far the best experience that I’ve had. We will be repeat customers and I highly recommend Chartering with “Reel Chill Charters”.

Great 6hr Fishing Expedition
Captain Troy & Firstmate Shawn provided a wonderful experience for my family today during our trip. Caught 4 different species of fish and 50 total during our 6hr adventure. After arriving back at the deck Shawn cleaned each species and put in separate bags. Highly recommend and we will look to book again the next time we are in Destin.
