You will be fishing aboard a 32' Hewes Craft boat that can take up to six guests plus the crew. Powered by twin Honda engines, the boat is perfectly suited to fish the local waters. It features a range of navigational and safety electronics to get you to the fish while staying in contact with the shore, and you will love its covered cabin area and enclosed toilet.
The main target species on your trip will be Alaska's two most famous saltwater sport fish: Salmon and Halibut. While you have probably tasted Salmon before, after fishing in Ketchikan you will notice that the fish you find in the supermarket are missing two essential aspects: the chase and the taste. There's nothing quite like bringing a huge King Salmon into the boat, and Alaska King Charters will teach you the best and most enjoyable ways of doing just that. And if you manage to hook a Halibut, you will quickly find out how this delicate-tasting fish is anything but delicate when you bring it into the boat. These monsters can reach up to 500 pounds - are you up for the challenge?

We enjoyed talking with the crew and learning about salmon fishing and they said the previous group were catching fish and we would return there. We had salmon in minutes and reached our limit in around 2 hours! Two wonderful captains, who we will remember every time we pull fish from the freezer for a meal!!

We couldn’t be happier with our experience with William, and we are so happy we elected to book directly with him over the other shore excursions in Ketchikan. He picked us up right at wards cove, and we hit our quota of halibut within a couple hours. William was fantastic with the kids, extremely knowledgeable, patient, and he found the best spot for halibut. We are going home with 5 halibut! Thank you William 🫶

Met Capt Kevin at the dock where shuttle dropped us, and we had a blast caught tons of Salmon, seen whales, bears on the beach, bald eagles, and even sea lions. Everyone caught fish and had a great time!

I don’t know of we had a line in the water for 5 minutes before the first fish was on. My family had a blast. I think we caught between 15-20 salmon. Kept 2 really nice king salmon. The largest, besides the one that got off was 16-18 pounds I’d guess. I’d highly recommend these guys. I hope to come back soon!

We booked two boats due to large group. Our group ranged from 20 years to 76. All managed fine. Justin and Kevin were great guides. The guys got both boats on fish and everyone caught something. We got bonus whale sightings and bald eagles too. Everyone had a great time. Bring some snacks. Six hours had most a little hungry.
We had Captain Austin. He was great. Really fun to hang with for the 3 or 4 hour trip and he did a great job finding the salmon for us! We ended up calling it a day before the full 4 hours because we had already caught as much as we wanted to keep! Highly recommend
