Reel Thang Charters OBX 

We had an absolutely great afternoon with Captain Will. My brother & I have been vacationing in OBX since we were little, and he and his wife are now full-time residents of KDH, so we thought taking a charter out on the sound would be a great way to find some cool boating areas for them in the future and also get some time with a local for some insights on the island and maybe some hidden gem restaurant recommendations! We got all of those things with Captain Will and more! I’ve taken my brother and sis-in-law fishing with me before, but couldn’t convince them to get on a line… they both reeled in a catch for their first time and were thrilled. Our group pulled in some massive Red Drum, a Speckled Trout, and some skate- all of which were released cleanly and hook free. Captain Will was so knowledgeable about EVERYTHING, was super fun to talk with, and had great stories. His boat was very clean, comfortable, and spacious- we had more than enough room for four adults with multiple bags and coolers. He also sells really cool Tshirts and sun shirts- my brother bought one and it’s great! I’m planning another trip back up to OBX this summer with my 10 year old and the first thing we’ll be doing is booking another charter with Captain Will! Thank you, Captain, for such a wonderful afternoon! (and for letting me snuggle my cute fishy really quick haha!)

He didnt even have all the lines in the water yet and we were catching fish!!!! 15 minutes into the trip we hooked on to a giant Red drum . Fought it for an hour between the 5 of us taking turns . Ended up netting it and getting it on the boat . It was 47in long and 50lbs !!!!!!!

Capt. Will was awesome. We had been on a couple charters before, but never in the Outer Banks. Brought my wife and 2 sons. My older saw someone catch a red drum on the pier a couple days earlier and he really wanted to catch one. I asked Capt. Will if that's what we could do amd Capt. Will delivered. We caught 7! Everyone had a great time and Capt. Will and his boat were top notch. Highly recommend if you are looking for a great experience with a Capt. who knows his way around the outer banks.

The captain was fantastic! We caught twelve red drum in three hours. My father, who is an experienced deep sea fisherman, and my seven year old son were both on the trip with us. I thought it might be challenging to get a charter that they would both enjoy. Inland was perfect for beginners and experienced alike! The captain was fantastic with my son. He can’t stop talking about it. If you are trying to decide whether to book a trip with Captain Will, do it! We were all very pleased with the experience!

Got there and immediately found the boat at the front of the marina loaded up and headed out. We had a small dog and the first thing captain Will did was offer her a water bowl. We were fishing for trout and started hooking up at each spot we stopped at. We had a couple beginners that were struggling at first but the captain did a great job of correcting there technique and everyone caught multiple keepers. Thanks again!

Really enjoyed the trip. The captain was very knowledgeable and explained that the conditions were going to be a little rough. Because the conditions were a little rough and the weather change, I believe this to be why we didn't get the fish we were targeting.What I did enjoy is the fact that the captain found alternative options and we hooked on other species of fish.He is a great Captain that adapted the weather change,kept us safe, and put us on the fish that were available at the time. Where he took us, the view of Dolphins and scenery made the trip very amazing also. I highly recommend everyone to roll out with this Captain to have a good time.

Capt. Will came prepared for anything and everything.. we boated many giant black drum wich was awesome. Saw a few smaller blue fin tuna. So he rigged up his big gear.. got to watch a 400+lb tuna smash our bait !! About 3hrs and several miles later we let go too fight another day..fish of a lifetime

Captain Will was great! Very knowledgeable about fishing and the entire area. Very friendly and had everything we needed. Brought my wife and my 16yr. old son. We set out to a secret spot and limited out on trout in about an hour and a half. Super fast pace great fishing, live and artificial baits. Best thing was my wife was reeling in a big trout, pulled harder is it got close to the boat, Capt. Will dipped the net into the water and got the trout as well as a big ole blue that was trying to eat the trout, had the trout's tail in its jaws!!! We will definately be a repeat customer!! Would highly recommend Reel Thang Charters for everyone!!

Great 3 hour trip! Captain Will was great, super knowledgeable. Even with the hot weather and a slow bite Captain was still able to put us on some fish and send us home with a little dinner. Caught some nice keeper Speckled Trout.
