NY Guide Service invites you on a fishing adventure on the abundant Lake Ontario. They are located it the eastern basin of Lake Ontario in Oswego, New York, and specialize in light tackle fishing on the open lake. The charter is owned and operated by Captain Richard DeMong who has spent his entire life fishing in New York.
Fishing on Lake Ontario will allow you to fish for a variety of Salmon and Trout species, and Walleye, available in different seasons throughout the year. In the Spring you can go trolling for world class Brown Trout, Lake Trout, and King Salmon. There is also the trophy Walleye available in these waters during the months of May and June, the Summer and early Fall.
Fall fishing on Lake Ontario brings in trophy Brown, Lake, and Steelhead Trout, along with trophy size King and Coho Salmon.
NY Guide Service will take you fishing aboard a 29-foot Aquasport offshore sport fishing boat powered by twin 300 HP Crusader 5.7L engines. The boat has a capacity for up to 6 guests who will very much enjoy the space and comfort on its 11-foot beam which makes for a great fishing platform.
The vessel also has a Yamaha high thrust 25 HP kicker for quiet and smoke-free trolling, a set of Scotty HP Electric downriggers, a Fish Hawk X4D down speed and temp unit, a fishfinder, a radar, a GPS, and a VHF Radio. You will find the enclosed bathroom very useful on full day trips, a grill, and all the USCG-approved safety equipment.
NY Guide Service provides all the fishing gear you need to make your trip successful including all tackle and baits, as well as a fish cleaning and filleting service at the end of the trip. They look forward to making memories with you that will last a lifetime!

We had a fantastic 6 hour salmon fishing charter. The conditions were perfect for salmon fishing. Four on the charter all caught our limit Of 3 fish each. Great day out with Chris and Joe.

We caught plenty of fish and everyone had a great time. We caught some (in my opinion) big fish and we only missed one. The crew was friendly and helpful. We got an opportunity to test out our sea legs and learned some creative names for fishing equipment. All in all we had a fantastic time and now everyone won't stop asking me when we'll go again.

I have fished with Captain Rich in the past and his charter service is fantastic! Unfortunately, on this trip we had real bad weather. He makes his clients safety and comfort a priority and canceled our trip. We certainly appreciated his decision and booked another weekend for next year.
My clients safety is my first responsibility, if the weather is questionable, and we will not enjoy ourselves, I will not allow the trip to proceed. Unlike others that we saw go. I look fireard to seeing yoy and your crew next year!!!!

I took this charter with Capt. Rich partly because I wanted to learn as much as possible about salmon fishing Lake Ontario, as well as catch some salmon. Thanks to Capt. Rich I did! He was very generous in showing me and explaining all the different gear & tackle and techniques we used. We also did catch fish, but unfortunately didn't land any, but I don't blame him for that. Note: I didn't have access to the "head" as I thought I would, so you might want to check on that beforehand.
