Madeira Fishing Charters – Prime 

We had a fantastic fishing trip on the boat Prime. Captain Simon explained everything to us first, and then we headed out to sea. At first, it looked like the fish weren't biting. But after about 2.5 hours, our patience was rewarded, and a tuna weighing around 75 kg took the bait. Suddenly, there was a lot of action on board, and after about an hour, we were able to land the tuna in the boat! An amazing experience!

We had a great day on the water, with an even better catch! The crew is incredibly attentive. Goncalo and Simon took excellent care of us. I’ll be back 💪🏼

My wife and I reserved Madeira Charters as a honeymoon event. As an experienced, avid fisherman from the U.S., I’m very much aware of the work and preparation. I’d like to remind all, it’s fishing and not catching! Though my wife and I only caught 5-7 fish, from Red Snapper to rare Barred Hogfish, and tirelessly trolled for Marlin, the focus on clients and learning, is second to none! We left all our work and worries at home. It’s what fishing should be…take your worries away and relax. However, that can’t happen without an encouraging caption and first mate. The crew enjoyed teaching and working with my wife and I. My wife is already encouraging me to plan a return trip for fishing!

I cannot recommend Anders and Claudio enough! I originally booked a morning big game trip but Anders recommended I change to the afternoon slot as the tuna were biting better in the evening. 1 hour into the trip the lures were attacked by the marlin with no hook up . Anders expertly manoeuvred the boat back around and again the fish attacked the left side lures then finally hooked up on the right hand lures . The fish almost stripped the line off the reel on it first adrenaline packed run screaming reels! We got the fish to the boat three times before it dived deep yet again . 3 hours later we finally got it to the boat . Such a magnificent fish ! A lifetime’s ambition achieved. Prime is a comfortable boat with a brilliant crew who worked so hard to get a fish . Highly recommended. Thank you Anders and Claudio👏👏👏👏

We are a family of five visiting from the US with deep sea fishing experience. This was one of the cleanest and well maintained boats we have ever boarded. Captain was great, and mate Alfonso did a great job to ensure our needs were satisfied. Despite not catching any fish, we truly enjoyed our final day on Madeira together. Lunch was also delicious, hats off to the chef!

It was an amazing day for our family (6 Person). Everything, the crew, the boat, the equipment far exceeded our expectations. We started with 3 hours of bottom fishing with al lot of fish. After that the equipment for big game was tackled. 3 exciting hours of trolling. First mate Claudio and Captain Anders did a great job, also there was a lot of seeweed on the way. Thank you for the unforgettable day!

What can I say Best fishing experience I have had in years I have booked twice with these guys and they did not disappoint We had a double header And landed both fish with experienced deck hands Then our last troll we got hit one more time and landed one more Captain Anders is a top notch captain If there are fishing around and biting He will get you on them David and Alfonso work hard , making sure all gear is right and ready to catch fish To go three for three And put them on the deck takes skill from captain and deckhands Tight lines and bloody decks to all

My wife and I have fished on charter boats all over North America. There are charter personnel that work as individuals and those that work as teams. This is the best team I have ever worked with: Capt.Anders, David, and Alphonso. They truly magnify their efforts through teamwork. We fished for two half-days separated by one day. On the first day, there was little action. I was very pleased with the effort I saw. This team of professional fishermen showed they definitely knew how to fish. We looked forward to the next day's fishing. On the second day, we had a couple of bytes, but no matter what we tried, bottom or trolling, nothing significant. Since Captain Anders did not have an afternoon booking, we even added some time, but as we started to go in, all hell broke loose. The real started screaming. We hooked into something big, really big. Through the teamwork of the captain and crew three hours later, we landed a 240 pound, 60" girth, 75" long Big Eye Tuna. I had no worry about the quality of the equipment, as it is all-new, top-of-the-line gear. The boat is immaculate. With this charter, the fishing team, the gear, the boat, and the bait, give you the best odds you will have against fish.

Superb 4 hour fishing trip on Gavito. We started out trolling for Bonito & Barracuda which had been good the previous day but didn't return any fish today but that's not unusual. The trip was in honour of my wife's birthday & Capt Anders had got his wife to bake us some little cakes which we had with excellent coffee from a tiny portable espresso maker. Next we went for deeper fish & the wife reeled in a lovely big Red Snapper which despite its size came up easily with the fantastic electronic reels assistance. We tried a few more spots including finishing off with a wreck site that returned bream, grouper & a tropical green & blue small fish Lastly Captain Anders pulled out an unexpected bottle of bubbles so we all had a toast. Overall this was a wonderful trip on one of the best days in terms of sunshine of this spring. I couldn't recommend the Gavito highly enough. These guys treat you as guest & friends not as customers and love to see new friends catch fish. Thank you to Captain Anders & the Gavito kid (sadly didn't catch his name but he was a great deck hand) If you're not sure who is good go with the Gavito & you'll not be sorry - they are genuine & offer good value for money.
