Nightjack Sportfishing invites you for a day full of adventure chasing fish in the abundant waters of Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. The charter is owned and operated by Captain John Alves who has fished since he was a child and loves spending every minute on the water. He enjoys taking new and returning guests out and showing them all the thrills these waters offer.
Capt. John will take you aboard the 'Nightjack,' a 32' Levy downeast, powered by a 330 HP Cummins engine, with a maximum cruising speed of 20 knots. She's a huge Canadian-built boat known as a 'Novi.' Known for their size and beams, Novis are incredibly sound and feature a half-enclosed cabin that will protect you come rain or shine, and comes fitted with a toilet. She can carry up to 6 anglers on inshore and offshore trips.
You'll target Striped Bass, bluefish, Fluke, Weakfish, and more. Or, take a trip offshore to find big game fish like Bluefin Tuna. You can also target the frightening Mako and Thresher Sharks, and, during the summer months, go after delicious Mahi Mahi.
Nightjack Sportfishing takes its fishing seriously. There is a fighting chair for you to battle the big fish, a livewell for bait, and all the USCG-approved safety equipment for when the waters get choppy. The whole family is welcome to see what real fishing is about, and Capt. John can't wait to welcome you aboard again and again. Whichever trip you choose, you're in for an unforgettable adventure.

Captain John and first mate Ryan couldn't have done us any better. They kept us in bait and fish - we landed bluefish, stripers, black sea bass, dogfish, porgies, even a toadfish! They were professional, knowledgeable and all around great folks - we'd absolutely fish with them again! Thanks for a great trip!

The afternoon was one of the best afternoons during me and my friends' stay at Yale for the summer. Caught a beautify sea bass that weighs 2-3 pounds, and I steamed it in traditional Chinese Cantonese way. Tastes amazing. (Sorry Zack for telling you to keep the head when cleaning it, I had to cut it off because it didn't fit in the steaming pan, haha) I would definitely recommend going fishing with Nightjack sportfishing to anyone who likes fun! Thanks again for a wonderful afternoon

I highly recommend using NightJack Sportfishing if you are planning a fishing trip. Capt John and Ryan worked very hard to ensure we all had the best experience during our time with them. Besides working with every member of our group in fishing techniques, they also provided us information about each of the fish caught, and the area where we were boating! You can cancel or modify your booking up to 30 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 10% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
