Rock & Roll Charters
Get ready for an unforgettable day on the water with Rock & Roll Charters, based in Clinton, Connecticut, home to some of the best fishing on Long Island Sound!
This is a full-time charter operation, meaning Captain TJ and his professional, fun-loving crew are on the water for a living. Trips run 7 days a week from mid-May through November, with morning and afternoon departures available. Whether you’re an experienced angler, a first-timer, bringing the family, or looking for a great day out with friends, everyone is welcome aboard.
Depending on the season and conditions, you may target Striped Bass, Bluefish, Blackfish (Tautog), Fluke, Porgy, and Black Sea Bass.
One of the biggest advantages of fishing with Rock & Roll Charters is the location. The prime fishing grounds are only about 15 minutes from the dock, giving you more time with lines in the water. Trips may visit legendary areas such as Six-Mile Reef, Southwest Reef, and East Rip, along with the many reefs, rips, and rocky structures that make this area such a productive fishery.
These waters are also famous for producing giant Striped Bass. In fact, just one mile from the dock, angler Greg Myerson landed the record-breaking 81.88-pound Striped Bass!
Conveniently located just 5 minutes from I-95 and next to Hammonasset State Park, Rock & Roll Charters is easy to reach and ready to welcome anglers of all ages and experience levels.
Book your trip today and come experience the fishing, fun, and legendary waters of Long Island Sound!
Please note: A 20% gratuity is customary for the First Mate. In addition to working the deck throughout the trip, your professional First Mate will fillet and bag your catch at the end of the day.

Captain TJ Karbowski is a U.S. Coast Guard–certified Master Captain who has spent his entire life fishing the waters of Long Island Sound. He began competitive fishing at age 11 alongside his father, competing successfully in Montauk shark tournaments, and has been passionate about boats and fishing ever since. After purchasing and customizing his first boat at age 20, TJ eventually earned his captain’s license and launched Rock & Roll Charters aboard a 35’ Luhrs. In 2005, he upgraded to his current 41’ Hatteras and began chartering full-time. The vessel is built for offshore fishing and features twin Detroit Diesel engines, tournament-quality Daiwa, Shimano, and Tsunami tackle, two fighting chairs, climate control, a large bathroom, and modern navigation equipment. Over the years, Captain TJ has developed a specialty in light-tackle fishing for Striped Bass and Bluefish using his trademark downriggers, guiding customers to multiple state-record catches. His expertise and ability to consistently find fish have helped make Rock & Roll one of Connecticut’s busiest charter boats. Captain TJ is also a popular seminar speaker, a member of Stripers Forever and the Recreational Fishing Alliance, Connecticut’s Bluefish Advisor to the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission, and Treasurer of the Connecticut Charter and Party Boat Association.
