Central Florida Sight Fishing Charters
Light tackle and fly fishing trips on the saltwater flats and backcountry waters of the Mosquito Lagoon. All licenses and tackle and provided. Great fishing all months of the year.
Sight fishing trips are for anglers who want to experience the excitement of casting to fish you can see in shallow water. Capt. Chris will push the boat across the flats and point out targets for the angler(s) on the bow. Catching success for this type of fishing is usually directly related to casting skill.
If weather conditions do not allow for sight fishing, we catch fish either blind casting lures or by fishing with bait while at anchor. Redfish, black drum, and seatrout are the most common species and can be caught with equal success all year long. Seasonal catches may include snook and tarpon.
Fly fishing trips for redfish, trout, and tarpon are offered as well. Capt. Chris is a IFFF certified fly casting instructor. Top quality equipment from Sage and Hardy is provided or you can bring your own. Anglers should have at least basic casting skills as our fish usually require quick accurate casts of 30-50ft with a 7wt rod.
Easy catching trips are offered for kids or people with little or no experience. We fish the extreme backcountry of northern Mosquito Lagoon in the protected cuts and channels. No rough water or chance of sea sickness. Using live shrimp as bait, action is steady and yields a wide variety of species from redfish and trout to sharks, jacks, bluefish, snapper, pompano, and more. It is not uncommon to catch a dozen different species per trip. These trips always produce action and kids as young as 4 can enjoy catching fish as well as seeing the wildlife.
In addition to the great fishing, you can see a wide variety of wildlife as well from manatee and dolphins to turtles, stingrays and birds. See these animals closeup in their natural habitat inside the nature preserve.
All trips are customized for the anglers skill levels and desired style of fishing.
