He’s fished Lake Michigan for over 25 years and knows its productive waterways in and out!
Hop aboard his 30’ Baha Cruiser offshore sport fishing boat, powered by a 395 HP Mercruiser engine. This wide-bodied beauty can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests. She also features the latest navigational and safety equipment to ensure your trip is successful and safe. What’s more, there’s a spacious stand-up bathroom and a sleeping berth!
Capt. Tim takes you fishing on Lake Michigan for delicious Chinook and Coho Salmon, as well as Lake and Brown Trout. Alternatively, you head to Lake Macatawa to find some tasty Sheepshead on the other end of your line.
Both lakes are well-known freshwater fishing havens and boast productive year-round fisheries! As a result, Capt. Tim takes you fishing throughout the seasons so you can always get your fix of fish.
He provides all the fishing gear you need for a successful day including rods, reels, tackle, lures, and live bait. He or his first mate will also clean and bag your catch at the end of the trip. All you’ll need to remember to bring is a valid Michigan fishing license and weather-appropriate clothing!

I can’t say enough good things about our recent trip with Powderhorn. From start to finish, everything about the experience was top-notch. Tim and Bill were a hoot! Incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about fishing. They knew exactly where to go and how to put us on the fish. We landed a great mix of king salmon, steelhead and lake trout. The boat was clean, comfortable, and fully equipped with high-quality gear. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it really makes a difference. The crew was friendly, patient, and great at explaining techniques—even for those of us who weren’t seasoned anglers. By the end of the day, we had a cooler full of fish and even more memories to take home.

Half Day Trip (PM) – Lake Michigan on July 1, 2024
We were staying at Indiana dunes for vacation and based on reviews decided to drive 2 hours for a fishing charter and we weren't disappointed! Ethan and Scott were truly amazing and even my kids had a blast! ( A 4 and 1 year old). We caught some awesome fish and my husband who loves to fish had such a great time on his first fishing charter. This is such an awesome place I would have drove so much longer to come here. If you aren't sure on where to book, or if it's your first ever charter definitely book with them they will not disappoint you! The knowledge they have on the gear and water is unmatched.

Great communication from the owner pre-trip. The captain let us know the water was very rough before we boarded and offered to take us out past the pier to see first hand before we had to decide whether to cancel or continue. We turned around 30 seconds into the big waves and decided to pivot to a sheepshead fishing excursion on the smaller lake. We had a great time, caught some nice sized fish and our 8 year old kids had a blast. Captain and First Mate were both great with the kids. Would definitely recommend Powderhorn to others.

My brother and I took three of our boys, ages 7, 7, and 11. Ethan and Scott were top-notch with making it fun for the boys, and at the same time fun for us adult anglers. Small stuff like letting them drive the boat on the way in -- we just had an unbelievably positive experience and awesome morning, thanks in large part to their patience with our boys and their help in helping the young dudes land their fish. It was awesome! 100 percent worth it.

My family took our oldest daughter for her 16th birthday and couldn't have had a better time! Captain Rosie and Randy were amazing. They are both extremely knowledgeable, talented, super nice, and great guys all around. We caught 8 total with the last being nearly 24 lbs!! We plan on making this a yearly family tradition. Thank you for a fantastic day on the water and helping us make some wonderful memories!
