Chincoteague Bay Adventures offers customizable and affordable family fun fishing trips to serve any angler’s need. All trips are private, so you’ll always have the whole boat for your group only! If you would like to fish in these Virginia and Maryland waters (convenient to Ocean City, MD,) and have fun onboard with a polite and friendly captain, look no further!
These waters are home to a variety of species, including sharks. Captain Tim knows how to find fish and make your trip memorable. If you want a snippet of action, have a look at some of the fishing reports he’s written.
Capt. Tim is a certified fly fishing guide and casting instructor trained at ORVIS-endorsed Hubbard Guide School in Emigrant, Montana. He works with anglers to explain why the fish feed where they feed and how your method will entice them. So, it’s not just doing, it’s also understanding, and then doing it better.
You will join the captain aboard his historic 22’ Jones Brothers Bateau skiff, restored in 2017. “Shadrunner” can accommodate up to six people, and take them fishing around flats, nearshore, inshore, and backcountry waters. The boat is equipped with a fishfinder and GPS, has a cooler, and a bathroom is always nearby.
You can go spinning, jigging, drift fishing, fly fishing, or bottom fishing, and depending on what you’re targeting, use heavy or light tackle. Depending on the season, there is Shark (catch and release only), Redfish, Striped Bass, Cobia, Flounder, and many more. You can customize your trip to suit you, your family, friends, or fellow anglers.
Capt. Tim has a cooler to store your catch so that you can have a tasty meal afterwards, once he cleans your fish. The captain will provide you with rods, reels, tackle, lures, and bait, and will take care of the fishing license. You can also choose to release your catch.

Awesome trip with Captain Tim!
Captain Tim is a great guide. He is very knowledgeable about the water and put us on flounder, striper, and speckled trout over the course of the trip. He was patient in giving instruction regarding the most effective techniques and lures for each target species. At the end of the day, I went home with 2 nice flounders and many great memories. I look forward to scheduling another trip with him next Fall.

We had an amazing experience shark fishing with Captain Tim! From the very beginning, he listened to what we wanted out of the trip and made sure to tailor everything to fit our needs and expectations. Great trip!
We had planned to do the shark trip, but Tim was honest with us that the waters were not as warm as they needed to be for good shark fishing. He was willing to take us, but offered alternatives as well. We opted to rely on his experience and we were not disappointed. It was a beautiful trip, with multiple fish caught. Tim’s knowledge of the island, the waters surrounding it and stories he shared made the day so memorable. Highly recommend.

Always a Great Time!
This is the 4th (maybe more) time that we’ve gone out with Captain Tim. We will keep coming back, because he ALWAYS works his tail off to find the fish…even when the bite is tough. I’ve sailed with captains who are happy to just take you for a boat ride when the fish aren’t cooperating, but Tim isn’t one of them. The bite wasn’t on today, but we moved and moved until he found them. Thanks, Captain Tim, for another great morning!
