Lake tahoe fishing trips available daily. During the summer months May-Aug i offer two trips a day. Typically 5 am and 9 15 am start times, that may vary as we get later in the summer as the sunrise is later. You can bring swimming stuff along and go for a swim if the weather allows. My trips are up to 4 hrs and i filet the fish that you catch if you decide to keep some. Thank you for looking at my fishing trips on Lake Tahoe. I try to keep the calendar up to date but sometimes dates that are taken will not yet have been blocked out. Thank you!
I offer trips 12 months out of the year and fishing is productive during the full calendar year! All of my trips are weather permitting. Big predictions of wind and or too much snow and ice on the roadways are a no-go. My trips are up to 4 hrs long and I provide all that is needed. You would need to get a one-day fishing license for those wanting to actively fish 16 yrs and older. Fishing permits are easily obtained online the night before the trip or the morning of just to make sure the weather will allow. My boat is a 2024 river wild alum hull with a top and heater if necessary. I provide water, chips, and granola bars for snacks.
Our main target on the north shore of Lake Tahoe is Mackinaw aka Lake Trout. It averages in size from 2 to 5 lbs. The lake record is 37 1/2 lbs.
Lake tahoe mackinaw are very good to eat! I am based out of the north shore so if you are staying in South Lake Tahoe or reno you can expect a 50-minute car ride. what an awesome morning out with Captain Brad and Michelle! we caught our max limit of fish, they were excellent in helping the kids, and taught us about the lake and fish. the boat was larger than expected (very comfortable) with shade. lifetime memories were made. highly recommend! thank you captain Brad and Michelle
We spent the early morning trolling for lake trout and caught the limit in a couple of hours. Captain Brad was cheerful and conversational, answering all of our questions about the lake, the technique, and the local conditions. He ably cut and filleted our fish and that evening we had a fantastic meal. Both of our kids had a great time and one even said it was their favorite part if the trip!
Capt Brad was amazing! Put us on the fish and was great with our two kids that fished. Would reccomemd 10/10. We will be back and fish with capt Brad again! Best for anyone! A guys trip or just a family trip getting the kids hooked on fishing. just book with the intention to having fun and learning about the fishey on lake Tahoe.
Our family had a great fishing trip on Lake Tahoe for Mackinaw Trout with Captain Brad. The lake was beautiful and the fish were plentiful. We even took a dip in the lake. Brad kindly filleted our fish for us which made cooking them a breeze. Highly recommended for a memorable family experience.
Captain Brad and his boat were great and we’ll definitely charter with him again on our next visit to Lake Tahoe! 🐟

Captain Brad Bugica has been fishing since he was 8 years old. He became a California licensed guide in 1992 and has been guiding full time since 2006. Both challenging and rewarding, he has loved every minute of it. You can fish with him year-round in Lake Tahoe or in the Sacramento area from fall to late spring.
