Lake Tahoe Fishing Trips
Lake tahoe fishing trips available daily. During the summer months May-Aug i offer two trips a day. Typically 5 am and 9 15 am start times, that may vary as we get later in the summer as the sunrise is later. You can bring swimming stuff along and go for a swim if the weather allows. My trips are up to 4 hrs and i filet the fish that you catch if you decide to keep some. Thank you for looking at my fishing trips on Lake Tahoe. I try to keep the calendar up to date but sometimes dates that are taken will not yet have been blocked out. Thank you!
I offer trips 12 months out of the year and fishing is productive during the full calendar year! All of my trips are weather permitting. Big predictions of wind and or too much snow and ice on the roadways are a no-go. My trips are up to 4 hrs long and I provide all that is needed. You would need to get a one-day fishing license for those wanting to actively fish 16 yrs and older. Fishing permits are easily obtained online the night before the trip or the morning of just to make sure the weather will allow. My boat is a 2024 river wild alum hull with a top and heater if necessary. I provide water, chips, and granola bars for snacks.
Our main target on the north shore of Lake Tahoe is Mackinaw aka Lake Trout. It averages in size from 2 to 5 lbs. The lake record is 37 1/2 lbs.
Lake tahoe mackinaw are very good to eat! I am based out of the north shore so if you are staying in South Lake Tahoe or reno you can expect a 50-minute car ride. Half Day Trip - 10 am on November 16, 2024 • 2 adultsWe could not be happier!!! I wanted to take my wife up to Lake Tahoe as she LOVES to fish. As I started my search for a charter, I found Captain Brad and so glad I did. He was so helpful with our questions before the trip and as it got closer, there was a questionable weather issue. He quickly got in touch with me and we switched to Pyramid instead of Tahoe. The day was perfect!!! We caught a bunch of fish including a 9 and 13 pound cut throat trout. Brad has so many different ways of fishing and we got to experience it all. He is a super nice, easy going, fun and knowledgable captain. We look forward to being back in his boat again!!!

Lake tahoe 9 30 am on May 26, 2024 • 4 adultsThe holiday came, and when our family of four teamed up to book a fishing boat, it was already booked and the time we wanted was not scheduled. Captain Brad Bugica communicated with us in time and arranged to book another more comfortable time. Everything was so beautiful, all the preparations, not as good as buying a fishing license, various factors when setting out, such as weather, the beautiful scenery along the way after departure, and luck when fishing. We were extremely lucky. We returned with a full load, and we harvested more than just a full catch. The captain helped us clean the 8 Mackinraw big fish we caught. We tasted a delicious fresh fish feast, full of joy and good memories. Sincerely thank Captain Brad, looking forward to fishing with the captain again in Lake Tahoe!

Mid morning lake tahoe fishing trip on August 29, 2025 • 2 adultsMy son and I had a great outing with Brad. He targeted the pods of mackinaw and had us catching fish from the gate. We were able to keep a couple of nice lake trout and let the rest go. Brad filleted the fish and we prepared them for dinner that night I would definitely do this trip again.

We spent the early morning trolling for lake trout and caught the limit in a couple of hours. Captain Brad was cheerful and conversational, answering all of our questions about the lake, the technique, and the local conditions. He ably cut and filleted our fish and that evening we had a fantastic meal. Both of our kids had a great time and one even said it was their favorite part if the trip!
