An avid angler since childhood, Capt. Hamish has always been passionate about fishing. He fished commercially before dedicating his life to running charters, and so knows exactly what it takes to attract and land the biggest fish out there. Along with his first mate, he promises to use all his skills and expertise to make sure you get what you want out of your trip with him.
The monster 40' Don Senior offshore sport fishing vessel has space for up to 12 guests, and 8 of you can fish at the same time on the spacious deck. The boat also comes fitted with a comfortable cabin, boasting bunks, a bathroom, and a kitchen, featuring an oven, microwave, and barbecue. Make yourself at home on board, and live the life of luxury on the open waters!
No stone is left unturned when it comes to fishing. Capt. Hamish provides the latest rods and reels, and you'll have plenty of live bait to attract the bite of your target fish. Meanwhile, the trolling lines will do their job from the outriggers, and you'll have a fighting chair at your disposal to give you the edge over whatever's biting.

We had a really good afternoon out on the water with Hamish the skipper on Major Tom. Even though the boat was not fully booked out he still sailed - so we had a personal experience that other boats may not have run. Hamish was really helpful with the fishing tackle, baiting up and then cleaning and filleting our catch for taking home. Major Tom is nice boat with plenty of space to fish from and spread out on the trip out to the fishing grounds. Will certainly be heading back for a trip, thank you,
I only booked the trip but the 7 people who went on this fishing trip absolutely raved about the experience. They told me that Hamish was an exceptional host and is a very friendly guy. They caught loads of fish too which was an added bonus. All enjoyed this very much! Thanks Hamish!
Absolutely recommend taking a trip with Hamish on his boat. We had a great time! Hamish was very knowledgeable about fishing and the local area and was happy to share with us. Will def go back out with Hamish on Major Tom when we are back in the area. Have enjoyed having fresh fish for dinner.

Without question, the best fishing charter I've ever been on! I've been fishing for 40 years, but chose to leave my own boat today and take a charter with ones of NZs most respected and well-known skippers, for a chance to learn and see how the pro's do it. Well, WOW! Apart from Kingfish thick and fast from the first drop, the boat was spacious and comfortable, the gear was more than adequate, and the skipper Geoff and first mate, Paul were hospitable, generous with their phenomenal knowledge and great people to spend the day with. I will DEFINITELY book their services again next time I'm in the Bay of Islands. I could not recommend more highly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon fishing. Hamish and his brother, James who was helping out that day, could not have made the experience any better. Great help with our daughter, full of energy and keen to get a good catch. I highly recommend it!
