Riptide Charters offers a variety of fishing packages to anglers of all skillsets. Whether you want to go far far out and get some big game, wish to try getting the fish on the fly, or are a first time fisherman, here you will likely find a package to suit you.
Riptide Charters are deep sea fishing specialists. Just an hour drive from Durban, they depart from the Shelley Beach at Margate. With a luxury of dry launch, you won't have to worry about getting soaked on an early morning.
You will be going after the fish aboard a 28' Butt Cat, powered by twin 147 HP Yamaha engines. The boat can take up to nine anglers. The vessel is rigged with GPS, a fishfinder, stores life jackets, and has a toilet, especially for ladies. The boat is launching from the beach, with a shopping mall just around the corner, so if someone in your party would rather stay behind, they will have a nice past time to fill out their day.
But, with all the fish swimming around, coming along is the safest gateway to a day well spent outdoors. These waters are home to a variety of species. You can go after bottom species and target the local Black Musselcracker around coastal rocky bottoms.Then, further out, you can try trolling for Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Amberjack, Kingfish, Yellowtail.
Typically, you'd fish for bait and then head after bottom fish, but a private charter can be customized to your needs. If you have minors, a private trip'd be the best option. The crew'll get in touch to tell you how to dress and what to expect the next day.
The crew will provide the fishing gear and lures, but you're also welcome to bring along your favorite fishing equipment. The skipper will clean the catch for you, and you can also enjoy the view and maybe see dolphins, turtles, sea birds, even whales or Sardine run — May to July is the time to be here.
Pack sunblock, a cap, sunglasses, drinks, water, and food. Hop on and head straight to the fisheries!

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
