You will be fishing on a 32’ Genesis cruiser that’s outfitted with a 250 HP Hyundai engine and has plenty of space for up to eight anglers to fish in comfort. Apart from all the necessary safety and navigation gear, the boat has a private head, full kitchen facilities, and a fridge/freezer as well. The boat is designed to be suited for fishing in all weather conditions, so feel free to book at any time you like.
Lake Taupo is heaven for Trout fishing, and what better way to do it than with Taupo’s most experienced charter operator. Jigging and trolling with downriggers are the main techniques used by Captain Richard to get you on the fish. Three-hour trips are the standard fare when it comes to fishing Lake Taupo, but longer trips can also be arranged and different departure times.
The price of a trip includes rods, reels, and terminal tackle, as well as the cleaning and bagging of your catch after the trip. 24-hour fishing licenses are now brought online with (Dept of Conservation) DOC Taupo fishing licenses. Adult $23.00 Child $5.00. I'll help you when you board the boat if you wish. Take along a pair of polarized sunglasses and some snacks if you’re so inclined and the adventure can begin. The four of us spent a wonderful afternoon on the lake fishing, learning about the area and talking to the captain. We heard about the history of the Lake Taupo and its fish, and the region in general. WE had a great trout dinner to top the day off.
Great trip, would highly recommend to anyone considering booking.
what can i sat excellent 3 hour trip with a very experienced captain lots of history of the lake and surrounding topography . managed to catch 3 rainbow trout very happy will book again when i return 😀
Miserable gloomy day - caught 2 fish. Captain tried everything to try to catch more. Wasnt to be - but great day and good memories made with family. Second trip on this boat - will bookagain.
A very enjoyable and successful morning fishing. Richard was great with the kids. everyone caught a nice fish. The boat is comfortable and warm when it needed to be. Definitely recommend.
