Hi, I’m Captain Harvey Wall, owner of Salty Dawg Fishing Charters. With 25 years of guiding experience in North Carolina—and as a proud U.S. Army veteran—my goal is simple: keep you safe, help you catch the fish you’re after, and make your day unforgettable.
I’m based in Ocean Isle Beach, with easy access to Sunset Beach, Holden Beach, Calabash, and Little River, SC. Whether it’s your first charter or your hundredth, I’ll tailor the trip to your pace and style so you have a blast.
Trips I Offer:
— Inshore Fishing Charters (4 hours; morning or midday)
Fish calm backwaters (ICW, rivers, creeks, marshes) for Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder. Ideal for steady action and relaxed scenery.
— Kids Fishing Charters (2 hours; 3–5 PM)
For kids ages 12 and under. We fish calm, protected water for easy-to-catch species to keep your kids engaged and having fun. Everyone fishes!
— Nearshore Fishing Charters (4 hours; morning or midday)
Run 1–10 miles off the beach to troll or bottom-fish for King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Black Sea Bass, Cobia, and more.
— Shark Fishing Charters (4 hours; morning or midday)
Stay within 1–3 miles off the beach to target sharks like Hammerheads, Tiger Sharks, and Sharpnose Sharks (most 20–80+ lbs). Safe, thrilling fun for all ages.
What’s Included:
Quality rods/reels, tackle, bait (I primarily fish lures inshore and when trolling), and all required licenses—plus patient instruction.
Clear, Friendly Communication:
You’ll hear from me right after you book, and again a couple of days before your trip with meeting details and a quick plan based on current conditions. On the water, I’ll coach you step-by-step, point out local landmarks, share a few stories, and snap great photos of your day.

KIDS FISHING - 2 Hours - P.M.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Family Fishing Experience!
We had an absolutely fantastic time on this fishing charter with our 6 and 9-year-old kids! From the moment we got on board, the captain made the experience easy, fun, and stress-free—especially for us as parents bringing little ones. He was incredibly patient and hands-on with the kids, helping them bait the hooks, cast their lines, and release the fish. Our daughter was thrilled to catch a flounder, and there were plenty of fish biting for everyone. He took us to a great spot where the action was steady, which kept the kids engaged the whole time. We parents even got to fish and enjoy the trip ourselves, which isn’t always the case with young kids in tow! It was the perfect balance of learning, excitement, and fun for the whole family. Highly recommend this charter for anyone—especially families looking to create lasting memories on the water. We’ll definitely be booking again!

Awesome adventure!
What a great trip with Cpt. Harvey! We caught tons of fish and saw so many beautiful birds in places most people never see. A trip with him is a fantastic experience with a Cpt who knows where to go and also celebrates the beauty around him. Great boat and equipment. We can’t wait to go again!

Great inshore fishing with the kids
We had an awesome time with Salty Dawg Fishing Charter. Captain Harvey was great with my two daughters (ages 6 and 4) — he probably answered a million of their questions and never missed a beat. Super patient and clearly loves having kids on board. We were getting bites the whole time and caught plenty of fish. It was the perfect intro to fishing for them. Highly recommend Captain Harvey if you’re looking for a fun and easygoing trip.

Great trip, great Captain!
Beautiful day on the water with a top notch captain. Put us on flounder and trout. They aren’t in season yet although we loved just the experience of catching them! Captain Harvey was very attentive, knowledgeable and fun to be with. This was mine and my brothers annual fishing trip and Captain Harvey made it a great memory for us! Would definitely recommend Captain Harvey to anyone coming to the area!

INSHORE - WINTER SPECIAL (4 Hours)
What a great day of fishing!
My son and I couldn't have asked for a better day of fishing! Captain Harvey was awesome! My son hasn't stopped talking about how many fish he caught! He also hasn't taken off the hat he got for catching the most fish of 2025. He tells everyone he sees how awesome his trip was and how many fish he caught! Captain Harvey knew exactly where to go, and the fish were biting! The gear was great, and the boat was awesome! I definitely look forward to booking with Captain Harvey again next February.
