Hi, I’m Captain Harvey Wall, owner of Salty Dawg Fishing Charters.
With 25 years of experience as a North Carolina fishing guide and proud U.S. Army veteran, I’m here to make your day on the water safe, fun, and memorable.
I'm based in Ocean Isle Beach, but my charters also cover great fishing spots in Sunset Beach, Holden Beach, Calabash, and Little River SC. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or it’s your first time holding a rod, I’ll tailor the trip to exactly what you want and ensure you have a blast!
Fishing Charters I Offer:
* Inshore Fishing Charters
Fish calm waters like the ICW and backwaters (rivers, creeks, marshes) for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, and Black Drum. Perfect for a relaxing, action-packed trip.
* Kids Fishing Charters
These short, 2-hour trips are designed for young anglers. We’ll fish calm waters and focus on easy-to-catch species to keep the action exciting. Everyone fishes!
* Nearshore Fishing Charters
Head 1-10 miles offshore to troll or bottom-fish for King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Sea Bass, and more.
* Shark Fishing Charters
Stay within 3 miles of shore to target sharks like Blacktips and Hammerheads weighing 20-80 pounds or more. It’s safe, thrilling fun for all ages!
** Fishing gear, bait, tackle, and fishing licenses are included.
When you fish with me, I’ll have everything ready to go, from top-notch fishing gear to a clean, comfortable boat.

KIDS FISHING - 2 Hours - P.M.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Family Fishing Experience!
We had an absolutely fantastic time on this fishing charter with our 6 and 9-year-old kids! From the moment we got on board, the captain made the experience easy, fun, and stress-free—especially for us as parents bringing little ones. He was incredibly patient and hands-on with the kids, helping them bait the hooks, cast their lines, and release the fish. Our daughter was thrilled to catch a flounder, and there were plenty of fish biting for everyone. He took us to a great spot where the action was steady, which kept the kids engaged the whole time. We parents even got to fish and enjoy the trip ourselves, which isn’t always the case with young kids in tow! It was the perfect balance of learning, excitement, and fun for the whole family. Highly recommend this charter for anyone—especially families looking to create lasting memories on the water. We’ll definitely be booking again!

INSHORE - WINTER SPECIAL (4 Hours)
What a great day of fishing!
My son and I couldn't have asked for a better day of fishing! Captain Harvey was awesome! My son hasn't stopped talking about how many fish he caught! He also hasn't taken off the hat he got for catching the most fish of 2025. He tells everyone he sees how awesome his trip was and how many fish he caught! Captain Harvey knew exactly where to go, and the fish were biting! The gear was great, and the boat was awesome! I definitely look forward to booking with Captain Harvey again next February. Thanks you!

Great inshore fishing with the kids
We had an awesome time with Salty Dawg Fishing Charter. Captain Harvey was great with my two daughters (ages 6 and 4) — he probably answered a million of their questions and never missed a beat. Super patient and clearly loves having kids on board. We were getting bites the whole time and caught plenty of fish. It was the perfect intro to fishing for them. Highly recommend Captain Harvey if you’re looking for a fun and easygoing trip.

Special 4 hour trip for Stephen Gryglewski
Follow-up Trip Huge Success
This was a follow up trip from one week ago and once again Captain Harvey didn’t disappoint. First of all we started the day with heavy 12-15 mph winds so Harvey had to work hard to find where the fish had moved to. We fished a few different spots and changed out our lures until the bite picked up…just another prime example of his patience and fishing knowledge. He worked hard to make this trip a huge success… it’s easy to guide a charter when the conditions are perfect and the bite is hot but only a limited few Captains have the knowledge and determination to find the fish to make your trip a huge success! Book him he won’t disappoint.

Great trip, great Captain!
Beautiful day on the water with a top notch captain. Put us on flounder and trout. They aren’t in season yet although we loved just the experience of catching them! Captain Harvey was very attentive, knowledgeable and fun to be with. This was mine and my brothers annual fishing trip and Captain Harvey made it a great memory for us! Would definitely recommend Captain Harvey to anyone coming to the area!
