You'll be fishing with a sea-loving crew on board a top-notch sportfishing vessel, built to ensure a pleasant and smooth ride.
Trips aboard Ratinho are run year-round, but the weather dictates the best time for fishing. The crew will take you where the fish are, around the coastline or further out for the chance to hook big game fish, usually about 10 to 15 miles from the coast, never the less lots of times the big boys are well in shore.
There are many species on offer, such as Bonito, a variety of Tuna, blue and white Marlin, Mahi Mahi, wahoo and a lot of smaller edible fish, Just let your captain know what you'd like to hook and for sure he will do his best for you to acomplish your wishes not forgetting that its fishing.
Skipper Adriano Medeiros describes the sea as the love of his life and welcomes you on board his 28' Starfisher to explore it with him. This vessel is fully loaded with equipment for your safety and comfort, as well as all the fishing gear you'll need, and snorkeling gear. 4 Hour Trip–Coast Bottom Fishing AM on June 18, 2025 • 2 adultsCaptain Adriano and his mate worked well as a team to help us land several species of nearshore fish (Grouper, barracuda, triggerfish and sea bream). We went with the combination trolling/bottom fishing 4 hour trip which was recommended by the Captain at that time. They also go out for larger offshore species (Tuna, marlin, etc.) but they can be seasonal so go with what the Captain suggests. He also extended the trip for us so we could catch a large triggerfish (and we did) which we have never tasted before. Upon return we only kept the fish we could eat (filleted) and the rest the Captain gave to people he knows who really appreciate the gift. We highly recommend fishing on the Ratinho and we will certainly go out again when we return to Sao Miguel.

4 Hour Trip–Coast Bottom Fishing AM on May 21, 2025 • 2 adultsWe went on a halfday trip with Adriano. We went trolling while we were heading to the bottom fishing spots. While trolling we caught 7 nice barracudas. When we reached the the bottom fishing spots the fishinggear got switched and we started fishing. We caught a lot of different species with some big triggerfish, seabream and blacktail comber. Adriano knows where to find the fish and we ended up catching a lot. I would definitely recommend to go fishing with Adriano, we had a wonderful day!

I have been on many fishing trips. This one is tops all of them. Adriano and his crew were spectacular! he put us right on the fish! When odds were against, he still delivered! We had a fantastic time on this fishing charter with our two 6-year-olds. The captain and crew were incredibly patient and helpful with the kids, making sure they felt comfortable and involved the whole trip. Even though the weather was a bit rough that day, they did a great job finding calmer water where the fishing was still excellent. We caught some really nice fish, and the kids especially loved line fishing—they had an absolute blast. Highly recommend for families looking for a fun and memorable experience on the water!

everything was excellent! captain was quickly responding to any questions I had and very flexible. The crew Sophia and Paulo were so helpful and informative. they helped us every step of the way and were attentive to our needs. we caught a lot of fish and had a great time. highly recommend!
The seas were a little rough but Adriano and Sophia worked hard to get us some fish and keep us comfortable. Although we were unsuccessful it was not from their lack of effort. We did get to see some dolphins along the way. It was a small consultation.
