Capt. Gary knows his stuff. He immediately found the signs of fish--birds diving, bait on the sounder, fish busting--and was able to put us on some fish. The action wasn't constant and we did have to work for the bites we did get, but Gary gave us the best possible chance, given a weird bite and impending storms. I would definitely go out on this boat again

Though the fishing was disappointing we still had a blast. Steve tried hard to find the fish (we caught and released a crab, 3 sea robins, a 14" fluke and saw a stingray) but the winds were high and the bay churned up so not much action. But we had glorious weather, Steve was very knowledgeable and we had great conversations. Hope to go again in September when the fishing conditions are better.

Small but clean and nice boat, equipment in very good condition, and a captain that is very committed to you having a good time on the water. Captain Steve was flexible, energetic, well prepared, and did the most of a few hour with us.

Captain Steve is a great guy and easy to talk to. He’s also great with kids. We had an amazing time fishing in the bay and on the ocean. We caught Sea bass, sea robins, Fluke a blow fish plus a four foot Hammer Head shark. The boat is beautiful as well.This was our second time with Captain Steve and we will use him again. Captain Steve was awesome. Very nice and knowledgeable. We had three new fisherman (two young kids included) and they had an amazing time. Steve was patient and really polite and encouraging. Not only did we catch a ton of fish but he made the family comfortable and was really attentive to their needs and questions (and concerns). We’d definitely recommend him and will do this trip again!

I would highly recommend Fire Island Fishing Charters and Captain Steve. We had a great day fishing and caught plenty of bass. Captain Steve is very knowledgeable and works hard to get you fish. He also has a great attitude and a great boat with enough room for four to fish.
