Frequently Asked Questions about Fishing Charters in Stuart
Fishing in Stuart
Located along Florida's Treasure Coast, this city is known for the riches it holds both on land and beneath its inshore, nearshore, and offshore waters. Wander through the historic downtown, stroll through the butterfly gardens, and then hop aboard one of the many fishing charters in Stuart, FL for an angling adventure you won't forget!
Known as the 'Sailfish Capital of the World,' Stuart's big game fishing opportunities are plentiful. With the Gulf Stream just 10 miles from shore, you'll come across Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, or Sailfish in just a four- or five-hour trip. Head past the stream on an eight-hour adventure, and you'll be casting your line for Tuna and Marlin, too. Some captains even offer 10–12 hour trips, which will take you further offshore for bigger varieties like Swordfish.
If the main goal of your trip is to hook some delicious dinner, Stuart's nearshore waters are home to a variety of reefs. Located 2–8 miles from shore, you'll come face-to-gills with the likes of Snapper, Grouper, Cobia, King Mackerel, and Amberjack. A four hour trip is enough time for newbies and families to explore the reefs, whereas hardened anglers can opt for a longer trip to cover more ground.
Stuart is also an inshore fisherman's paradise. With access to the St. Lucie River and the Indian River Lagoon, you'll have your line in the water within minutes, meaning that even a four hour trip yields plentiful results. These waters are rich with popular Floridian fish, including Snook, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Permit, Flounder, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Bonefish, and Tarpon. A full day trip will give you the option of targeting 'em all!
Hop aboard a Stuart fishing charter, and your licence will be covered. Some of Stuart's species are subject to strict regulations, and your captain will make sure you're fishing within the law.
