Average temperatures in the Keys are around 70°F in January. Bonefish and Permit are biting on the flats so long as a cold front doesn’t scare them off. Offshore, it's time for the annual Key Largo Sailfish Challenge.

February

February is a great time to fish inshore for Redfish, Permit, Sharks, and Barracuda. Offshore, you’ll catch Sailfish and Kingfish. For a mixed bag and some guaranteed success, try hitting a few reefs close to shore.

March

Tourist season is in full swing in the Keys by March. The waters will be just as crowded, with Tarpon making their entrance inshore while Tuna, Wahoo, and Mahi Mahi occupy the deep sea.

April

The backcountry is loaded with Tarpon, Redfish, Cobia, Jack Crevalle, Sharks, and much more at this time of year. Meanwhile, the deep sea is full of Wahoo, Tuna, large Mahi, and Marlin.

Easy Does It

Book the whole day, it took close to 45 minutes to get on the fishing spots so a 4 hour trip would not give you as much time to fish. Be open and listen to your captains as they are very knowledgeable. I’ve fished freshwater species but this was my first time in saltwater and there are differences I had to make but they coached me through it. Great experience.

On our trip, late April 2024, it was a cooler than normal spring evidently. Luckily, the water temp worked out. April is an awesome month to come out. Had a great sunset tarpon trip with Capt Dave. He put me on a 100+ pound tarpon that was just spectacular. Fought for 20 minutes or so. Got it near the boat and it popped off. But still so awesome. Great instructions how to battle these awesome fish. Caught two more tarpon after the sun went down and got hands on those. Also caught a big barracuda. Super fun and highly recommended Aaron

Though there were storms all around us cpt Sam managed to avoid them all and get us into tarpon. Having fished for tarpon in the past I know it is a visual game. For me, I had a hard time spotting them but Sam saw them and got us in casting range even with the wind. He worked his you know what off but with his calm demeanor and work ethic we (he) kept at it. This is my 2nd trip with him.

We had a 6 hour 3/4 day charter. We were on the hunt for Mahi Mahi and Captain Russ took us right to them! Christian was working hard for us and had everyone reeling in some Mahi and a couple of Barracuda! We had an amazing time and as an added bonus, we got to hand feed some nurse sharks and tarpon while Capt Russ cleaned our fish. Needless to say we ate well that evening! Thank you, Capt Russ and Christian!

Easy to communicate with leading up to the Charter and had an amazing time fishing. It was me and my son (13) and our captain was Zach. He was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He made the entire day run smoothly. Side Note: Coast Guard was doing routine safety checks, boarded our boat and the boat had everything required on their checklist. Passed with flying colors!
