The availability of this trip depends on what's running and the time of year. You could be fishing for one species in the morning and switch to others as it gets later. Blackfish, also known locally as tautog, are hard fighting and excellent tasting bottom feeding fish. These fish are resident fish that spend the winter offshore in deep water, returning inshore from spring to late fall. Newport Rhode Island has some of the best fishing on the east coast.
