Queensland Threadfin Salmon Fishing Charters

This is a private trip just for up to 6 people. From 6.30 am until 11 am. We supply all rods & reels, all bait & tackle as well as bottles of water and you will be guided by our experienced fishing guide. Common estuary fish species include, but are not limited to, Javelinfish, Fingermark, Blue and king Threadfin, Queenfish, Trevally species, Mangrove jack, Estuary cod species, Bream species, Hairtails, and the prize catch Barramundi.

The Inlet is home to a great diversity of species including the famous Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Fingermark, Salmon, and Jewfish to name just a few. All rods and reels are included in the price, as well as the live bait. We supply cold drinking water and sunscreen but feel free to bring along your own snacks and drinks.

You'll have access to the plentiful waters around Hinchinbrook Island, as well as a collection of productive reefs. Your captain will have you targeting prized species such as that Aussie favourite, Barramundi, as well as Trevally, Threadfin Salmon, and Queenfish. You'll get to test out a mix of techniques, too. You'll catch live bait during your trip, and your fishing gear is included as well.

Depending on your skill levels and personal preferences, your captain will take you to various hotspots to target some incredible fish. Species include the mighty Barramundi, a variety of Snapper, Nannygai, Threadfin Salmon, and whatever else is biting. You'll be provided with top-quality rods and reels, tackle, lures, bottles water, and a valid fishing license for all guests. You can also catch your own live bait on the journey out.

Explore some of the areas many mangrove-lined river and estuary systems. Have your expert guide will decide on the best target for the day, taking into account the weather and tides and get after your next prize catch. The guides specialize in targeting Barramundi but this is far from your only option in this rich fishery. In order to ensure a personalized experience, this trip is for a maximum of 2 guests.

This is generally a morning trip which is only available as a private charter. Your group and the skipper will spend 4 hours searching the waters of Cairns for delicious Barramundi. You're covered for all the equipment, bait, drinks, tea/coffee

A great 6hr estuary fishing event where we target barramundi (in season) mangrove jacks ,fingermark ,salmon ,brim and grunter ,around the cairns inlet thats alive with birdlife and a mangrove system backdrop that will leave you spell bound.We do charge 10 percent extra for public holidays .(Please note as of march 27 2026 we will be adding a temporary 10 percent fuel levy to all tours .This will remain in place until fuel prices settle back down )
