Lucky Lass Haleiwa Charters is a family-owned fishing company located in Haleiwa, Hawaii. It offers small intimate bottom fishing tours and trolling out of Haleiwa Harbor. Captain Matthew Ratoni can’t wait to get you hooked up on a fish off the famous North Shore Oahu. The captain offers a different charter fishing experience than most North Shore charters, allowing you to target rarely sought-after trophy fish. Join him aboard and have a fishing trip to remember!

Your adventure will take place on the captain’s 20’ Shamrock offshore sport fishing boat. It runs on a 135 HP diesel inboard engine, uses modern navigation electronics, and can accommodate up to 3 anglers. The boat is also equipped with outriggers and a livewell and features a multimedia system and an ice-box. Just please note that we allowed three guests, but the weight limit is 600 lbs.

Captain Matthew uses both light and heavy tackle and offers bottom fishing, deep sea fishing, trolling, spinning, jigging, as well as drift fishing. The wide choice of species you can fish for includes Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Green Jobfish, Rainbow Runner, Bluefin and Giant Trevally, Wahoo, and many more. You’re allowed to keep the fish you catch and you’re welcome to bring kids on the boat. 

The captain will take care of all the fishing rods, reels, tackle, lures, and live bait. If you choose to keep your catch, he can also clean it and fillet it for you at no extra fee. Before you start the trip, just be sure to have some snacks, drinks, and your fishing licenses. Please note that there is a 5% state tax and 3% harbor tax that is not included in the price.

A 7-hour fishing trip is the same as a 5-hour fishing trip.  The only difference is this trip ends at 1:00 p.m. instead of 11:00 a.m. Some pelagic fish you may catch while trolling include Mahi, Ono, and tuna to name a few. Customers may take home a portion of their catch based on the size and species.

Do you want to enjoy the sunset and relax on a perfect trip for two or small family, only to be interrupted by a line going off? This is that trip. It is not made for the hardcore anglers more geared to people that want to enjoy the scenery and catch a fish or two. Come enjoy the veiw and unwind with your favorite beverage aboard the lucky lass.

Evening trip light gear inshore

Do you have young children, or have little to no experience. This is the trip for you. The quick trip is not a big game trip but focuses more on the inside catching smaller and more abundant fish. The tactics used are light trolling and light gear bottom fishing. This is primarily a catch and release trip and all other fish is kept by the captain or crew. So if you want to get on the water and try a small fishing trip in Hawaii look with us and we'd be happy to take you aboard.

Just like the other kid or beginner trips just starts in the afternoon.

This trip offers a half day experience on the North Shore of Oahu out of the Haleiwa harbor. Being that we are in the middle of the ocean and conditions change daily we offer a multitude of different experiences in this trip. When the water is calm we offer some excellent bottom fishing that includes many different species such as Ulua, blue fin Trevally, and uku. When the conditions are too rough to bottom fish we offer a near shore pelagic troll that includes mahi-mahi, wahoo, and tuna.

5 Hour Half Day 6:00 AM

Fall is here and winter is on it way, this means light trades and calmer conditions that allows afternoon trips more available.  Trips are based on conditions and include pelagic trolling and near shore bottom fishing.  Inquire ahead of time to see whats biting and weather conditions.
